Installing original 1967 style 427 Emblems on my 2011 Z06
I decided to remove my red 427 emblems that were on my 2011 Supersonic Blue Z06 that I installed 5-6 years ago and replace them with the original style individual 427 lettering that came out on the 1967 427 Corvette. Why? Well I use to own a 1967 427-435 Corvette Coupe back in the late 70s, I sure miss it and thought 💭 it would be cool to have a little throwback from my old ride😎 The original 427 emblems had pins on them which I choose not to use therefore I had to remove them first and then applied 3m double sided take to each letter. I used my old template I had from the replacement ones I had installed several years ago which worked fine. I used fishing line to get the other ones off then goof off to remove the excess adhesive etc. Then used some rubbing alcohol to clean it up and waxed it real good. What took me the most time was probably grinding the pins off of the back of individual 4-2-7 letters. Anyhow I like the finished look, a lot of work compared to just installing the red ones that are attached with tape already. 1967 Corvette 427-435. Late 70s 👍
