My 2008 C6 black on black is in good condition but I would like to add a little contrast to the interior. I do not want to make major changes to the original, just add a little color. So far I have installed a Wheelskins Euro two tone cover in a red/black combination, a red/black console cover, simple door handle wraps in red, and floor mats with Corvette flags. I am thinking about replacing the shifter boot with a red/black leather.
I prefer the Colbolt red and so far the items mentioned have been enough the same tone to match. Now thinking about a nice seat cover with red accents. The leather are generally too expensive for what I am trying to do but the Kustom Interior covers in their artificial leather seem to get good reviews. I am concerned the red will be too bright against the other pieces and that the artificial leather will not breathe and be too warm in the summer. Does anyone have experience with these covers that will help me decide? An alternative provider is also welcome.
I had red & black Kustom Interior seat covers in my C7. My OEM interior was completely black; so, I never had a chance to put their red up against the red in other Corvettes. But I can tell you that their red is a relatively bright pure red color. It will definitely be brighter than Cobalt Red in the C6's, which is a somewhat muted red color.
Thanks for the insight. I had a feeling that would be the case. What about the comfort, are they warm in the summer or more like real leather? I have also read that some find them gripping so you do not move at all. What was your experience with them?
