KN HP1017 filters do not work for the c7.
Many suppliers such as napa and lordco are currently advertising the KN HP1017 filter as proper replacement for the C7.
Cant blame the staff at the store, they just follow a chart.
This filter is a 10-17PSI relief rating.
The c7 requires a 22PSI relief.
Reminder to check for yourself when you are buying parts.

From a recent post from Zymurgy across the hall in the C8 forum the PF64A is the replacement filter for the now hard to find PF64 and has the correct specs. 
I just bought 2 from local Chev dealer. $12 each. The counter guy at the dealer told me the supplier for oil filters and some disc brake pads apparently had some legal and or financial problems and was forced to halt production. Don't know if that's the actual reason but it's what I was told.

YES,,,,, you have to be careful which filter you purchase. MANY,,,, places advertise a filter for the C7 and they are WRONG. One of my GOTO filters is the full synthetic WIX-XP for the C7. 22 psi.
