Default Trans filter service in used C8

I am looking at buying a 22 C8 vert with 16k miles. I am trying to find out from dealer if it had the 7500 mile filter replacement done. Question is if it has not been done is it too late now? Should I pass on car because of this?

I bought a certified corvette from a well known Chevy dealer. I feel that is about the only way to know that all the maintenance was done properly and on time. Where is the car listed for sale?

I bought my 20 used two years ago with 8000 miles on it and no documented maintenance. Took it in right away and had the engine oil and DCT filter done and changed the DCT fluid myself soon after. The car was exactly what I was looking for and the price was decent for the market then. I'm now out of warranty and have not bought an extended warranty. Living on the edge.

No one can tell you what is best for you though some will try.

If you look at the data sheet for certification (I attached an example - I do not know if it is the latest) , it appears that the dealer can certify the car by performing all the currently needed maintenance. In other words, even if the DCT filter was not changed between 7000-8000 miles, the dealer can just change the filter, bring all the maintenance up to date, and certify the car if there is nothing currently wrong with the transmission (or anything else). I'm not sayin' there is anything wrong with that - that's just how it works. Once certified it should be covered by the terms of the certification. I've never been able to figure out whether the CPO warranty is just the factory warranty, or whether there is a different document (other than the factory warranty manual) that governs the coverage of a CPO car.

In the case where its not a certified vehicle....thats another question. From a technical point of view, if the filter was not changed between 7000-8000 miles, but it has been changed...and nothing is currently wrong with the transmission.....it is unlikely that any damage was done. And so far, I don't think we have reports of any denials of warranty claim in that situation. Beyond that, its kind of a guess.

I recall one case where the original owner went well past the change mileage and had a failure before the filter was ever changed. The claim was initially denied but I don't think OP reported any more about it.

It's never too late to change the filter unless the trans has already failed, but it would be too late to protect the warranty.
Now, of course, the powertrain warranty is about over as the car is just about to be 5 years old.
I would ask the dealer what warranty they are offering due to no verification of having the correct service done.
And then, the price would have to be good enough to warrant taking a chance on the car.
