Not my car, my friend's.... 1991. Camaro with C3 SBC350 1978. engine. Car was parked on a slight downward slope. Have you ever seen anything like this?
This happened while parked on the slope whit engine turned OFF. He has a mechanical pump with weirdly enough, pessure of 9.5psi which is too high so he installed pressure regulator turning it down to 4.5 psi. One weird thing is that same thing happens during heavy braking. Needle and seat are obvious problem along with the faulty float. But to see the fuel pouring in galons... Weird IMHO.
Check float height per the serial number on the carb and make sure the needle, needle clip, and float are assembled correctly. Possible high fuel pressure caused a part to fail.
