I am new forum member and would like to say hi to everyone first. Never owned corvette and now thinking to purchase one for myself. I am debating in between C6 base and GS, there are many options people are struggle to decide between base and GS. I found by coincident local 2007 C6 ls2 with less than 20K miles, around $28000, very nice - clean - well maintained car. Owner babied the car and he is a true corvette fan. Car is in good shape, no accidents. One side of me says take it since it is local and less trouble , time and money compared to a prestine condition C6 GS but my other side says pay extra and try to get 2012 - 2013 C6 GS with LS3 - wide body and updated interior. My wife says go for the C6 GS but I am very picky and being very picky prices for babied 2012 - 2013 GS goes around $40K to $50K. So, what you think should I go for the LS2 or be patient and wait for the perfect GS and pay the extra.
As with most things in life, that will come down to money. Are you willing to spend the extra $10k - $15k and get the newer, slightly faster and updated wide body versus the narrow body?
So it's a decision that you will have to make as it's a financial decision. There is no doubt that more people prefer the wide body and it does look better and the car will be newer.
When I was shopping I had the same Dilemma. After seeing the wide body fender flares I decided I would regret not going with Grandsport. However nothing wrong with base.
Thank you @Pettrix , @C6ToGo and @PFTZ , I can make up decisions normally fast somehow this one is really challenging me I think I am more towards the GS being newer, wider body but just need some extra courage from forum folks As said base is also very nice and good looking also.

You answered your own question, you won't be happy with a narrow body and will always wish you had gotten what you really wanted.
@GS-2013 hi, your car looks amazing, this is what I want to be honest is that black or blue?
Thanks its a 2013 Night Race Blue. I like Blue cars...Jetstream Blue is a gorgeous color too. It reminds me of Corvettes from past generations but it was not available in the years I wanted. At first I had a Corvette Forum Sponsor do the fuel rail covers in NRB but the engine compartment was too dark. He said no problem tell me what you want. I went with JSB.
My car looks black in the garage or at night but the blue pops in the sunlight and shade.
Many guys have tight budgets, or a wife that doesn't want to spend big bucks on a car that's basically a toy. My advice get the best, latest year car in the color that you want. Don't get a coupe if you want a vert...don't get an auto if you really want a manual. Check the car out well, condition is everything. my 2cs
Decide what you really want, then takes as long as you need to find THE car. But once you find it, go for it before it gets away. In my case, I spent about a year deciding what I wanted and then about 3 months seriously searching. I considered C6 Z06 and C7 base too initially. Decided I don't like the C7 and don't need the LS7 but had to have the wide body. I really thought I wanted Velocity Yellow until I saw the 60th Anniversary package. Flew to AZ to buy it and 6 days to drive it home with my brother. Great road trip.
I went from an 2005 manual 3lt z51 convertible to 2010 Grand sport manual 4lt convertible. Even my wife felt a huge difference and was glad I traded in the 05. Both cars were purchased
used with under 7k miles.
I've driven several of my friends C8s and I may get one some day but I will keep the grand sport.

I could not have said this any better! Make yourself a must have list and would like to have list and get busy. And when the right one comes along, don’t hesitate. Best of luck with your search!
