Chaparral Tribute C8
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I love the wing less look of the original two-tone #66.
I love the body color trim too.
I wonder if that's why I ordered my C8 to be white w/o spoilers?
I met Jim Hall...and Phil Hill and Dan Gurney...at the opening of the Chaparral museum in Midland...must have been 2004.
He autographed a model of the car I bought in the gift shop.
Gurney was very nice too.
I was sitting next to the guy that won that year's Indy 500...a Brazilian, I believe.
I wasn't following IndyCar (or was it IRL then?), so I wasn't familiar with him.
To top it off, when I went to depart, the local car guy parked his new Ferrari Enzo near my car.
Ps. Note the car above is a Stingray...not a Z06 or ZR1.

One of my uncles had a carport where he had constructed a circle wide enough for a *** .049 engine powered model out of very smooth cement. In the center of the circle was a special bolt with a bearing and he would run piano wire from the bolt to the car. Once all this was securely tethered, he would start up the thimble drome engine and let the car run in circles - oh the smell of the nitro fuel!! Yep, my favorite was the Chaparral and I found a picture of one for sale on eBay. This must have been maybe early 1970's. Good times.
Noticing the parking spot of the tribute car, I do wonder how a handicapped person could get in/out of the C8. As a very healthy 72 year-old, it ain't easy for me!
