Default RCDLR died and I am Struggling

Hi Folks, my 2006 base convertible's RCDLR is dying. I purchased a new(used) one from ebay. I did my best to check out the seller and there are quite a few vette owners that have left some good reviews. My issue is I cannot program the new RCDLR. I have a Tech 2, as well as a Laptop with TIS2000, but i cannot get the Tech 2 or TIS2000 to communicate with the RCDLR.

What I have tried so far:
I have put the car into accessory mode with the old RCDLR plugged it, left it in accessory mode, and then plugged the new RCDLR in. Still not able to communicate.

Does anyone have any direction on how to either program the new RCDLR with the Tech 2, or use the tech2 as a pass thru and program the RCDLR with TIS2000?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also I am still new to this forum, so if I am forgetting anything, please let me know.

Thanks!

I just did this 3 weeks ago with no tech II. I am also located in philadelphia btw.

No need to put in accessory mode. Just swap the RCDLR with the car off, then start the key programming via the long method. Afterwards, perform a theft relearn and you're done.

EDIT* Just noticed you posted in there too.

What do you mean "it's dying" ??...did you check the power and grounds for the module ??...if the powers or ground is bad you won't be able to communicate with the module !!
