No radio or clock power?
Before I attempt crawling underneath dash ('66 coupe) is there a seperate fuse for both radio and clock............neither work? If not, solutions? begee22
The radio does have a fuse in the fuse panel but as best I remember the lighter is driven directly from the main feed. Probe the center socket pin with your DVM. It's not uncommon for the lighter socket to not be grounded well but a burned element is also very common.

No, the clock is fed by the orange circuit that also feeds the courtesy lights and brake lights (bottom fuse in box). If they work, you don't have a fuse problem. It is not unusual for the clock to stop working even with voltage present. Unless you have been updated to a quartz clock it's likely the clock needs repair or cleaning. ( If your ground is connected on the back of the clock)
The radio is fed by the yellow wire from the fuse box (third fuse from top)
Both the radio and the clock are grounded by a dual black wire in the radio connector plug that connects to the bar under the dash and also grounds the instrument cluster. Check to make sure your connector is not loose behind the radio. If it is not connected, neither the radio or clock will work. It has a yellow wire for power, two black wires for ground (in the same hole in the connector) and a gray wire for the radio dial light.
Bruce,
I hope Jack's advice solves your two issues. As you are well aware, the clock and the radio in these old girls were highly subject to failure. Both can be repaired and both will most likely fail again in the future.
Sorry, I don't know where I pulled lighter from. I'm obsessed with unprotected circuits on these things. In any event, if the clock isn't working, 80% of the time it's the points that drive the winding solenoid and they usually just need cleaning and/or tweaking.

Thank you Jack - That connector seems like the most likely culprit. The more I delve into this car maintenance was not something the former owner (74 yo) cared about. Easy access thru radio side panel and hopefully problem solved. Exciting that its a 89K time capsule that has little issues that will take time to sort out but right in my wheelhouse.
My understanding is if that ground lug is not good the harrness won't work
if the ring is not grounded to the frame under the dash a lot of things won't work, but if it's connected there, but the plug is unplugged, only the clock and radio won't work because the two wires feed into the same connection so the dash will still be grounded, but not the radio and the clock.
