Have not found any good shops in years - maybe they still exist, just not w/ GM vehicles and the "dots"/ gradient on rr glass
I have heard good things about Ziebart over on Centerville Road. There is a La Tint shop in Alexandria but don't know anyone who used them.
I had my tint done next to Mike Pallone Chevy on Backlick Road (can't remember the name of the place). They tried tinting over the "dots" and did an 'ok' job. If I sent someone there i'd make sure you tell them NOT to tint over the dots.
A little out of the way for you but LA Tint in Sterling did my C6 (took about 3.5 hours) but did it right. They were able to put the rear hatch tinting on in one piece and able to get it to properly adhere to the dots. The trick is to take the time to do it right. I know of another C6 who had his done there (C6FirstVette) and he also is happy with their work.
Not sure if you know this but 20% all around could get you several tickets from the local LEOs. Va tint limits are 50% on driver and pass windows, 35% on rear windows.

Good luck whatever route you take.
I know the law says that however, if you have two outside rear mirrors, you can paint your back glass totally dark if you like -
That said, your front rolldowns can only be 50% - unless you have permission from the state to go darker

Unfortunatly, the fact that you have two outside morrors does not allow you go totally black. The darkest allowed under the law, even with two outside morrors, is 35% on the rear and 50% on the front. Unless you have a medical waiver. With the wiaver you can go 35% all the way around and even have a strip on the front windshield. SUV's that come from the factory with blacked out rear windows are also exempt. However, even they can not have the front windows tinted darker than 50%.
It's your car though, I'm not trying to force the law on you. Just making sure you are aware of it. I say do whatever you want. It's just like running without a front tag. It's illegal but worth the risk as far as I'm concerned.

Again, I know the law.
I have also been dealing w/ tint laws and cars w/ tint in VA since 1986 - before it was en vougue
Anyways, the law says 35% on back and 50% on fronts (35% w/ waiver) however, there is a "loophole" that allows the darker tint - find it, and you'll do fine w/ 20% or even 5% on the rear
Every car I have is tinted within the law - and FWIW, I have a waiver - since before it was on the reg. card
Looks perfect. They do a lot of high end exotics there so they know how to handle the "dots". It's a little bit of a haul from NOVA, but worth it. Good excuse to take the vette for a road trip
