Is there anything in Waynesville or Maggie anymore?

There used to be a wonderful Corvette show at the festival grounds in Maggie Valley but didn't notice any in recent years. Not sure what happened as the turnout was rather impressive when I visited.
I really liked the show in Lawrenceville, GA last year and it is coming up again on Sept 9. Even though 2 hours away for me I may try to attend again. I forgot the number of Corvettes in the show but it must have been close to 100.

Rutherford County Corvettes is based in Rutherford County NC, we are 100 members strong and have montly functions. We also host Corvettes For Vets the second weekend of May every year at McNair Field in Forest City NC. Our all Corvette show averages 200 cars from all over and in the past 5 years we have raised almost $40,000 for military charities that we support with this event. Our club is open to anyone from Western NC / Upstate SC that owns a Corvette of any year. We only communicate through facebook. We are a group of Corvette enthusiasts from all walks of life, but we all have one thing in common....our love of Corvettes. Look us up on facebook under Rutherford County Corvettes

Wholeheartedly encourage the formation of a WNC corvette club. Please let me know if I can be of assistance.
Due to my age, charm and charisma I have many contacts that could be of help.

I usually take mine out the 3rd or 4th weekend of the month when my home and the weather's nice. Rode down to Marion/Lake James 2 Sundays ago. Great weather!

We should see what it would take to renew or re-start the Vettes in the Valley event. Hell, we could just pick a weekend in Oct. and meet for the 1st one just to see who shows up.

Sounds like a good idea. It would be good to try to find out who was in charge and get some advice/permission.

Looks like this is next to impossible to get going....

Sometimes you just have to pull the trigger, announce the date for a meet-up and see who drives in. Just have a great route that expands the limits of your car's supension and you'll tons of participation!

there are plenty of clubs in the area. Hell, I just did a toy run with 45 corvettes in Hendersonville a couple weekends ago. There are corvette shows every two weeks in hendersonville, and there are those of us that demolish backroads any given chance during the season.
