Ok folks as we wind down this years St Jude Childrens Research Hospital Fundraiser its time to talk about the caravan and check presentation. So far we have raised just over $80,000 a bit shy of last years total but we still have time and all things considered that is an amazing amount of money Thanks to all who have contributed so far.

This years the check presentation will be on Columbus Day, Monday Oct 12th. A bunch of us will be getting into Memphis on the 10th and staying at local hotels. If you would like area hotel info please PM me. The tentative schedule is as follows:


Oct 12th

Meet at Hooters from 10:15 and leave around 11:30

This puts us at the Pyramid around 11:45-12:00.

The six displays cars leave around 12:30, followed by the police escort and remaining cars around 12:45.

Event commences at approximately 1:00

Speech/presentation from 1:00-1:30, kids enjoy the cars from 1:30-3:00, then tours of the hospital at 3:10.

I would like to encourage everyone to try and make this event it is truly a remarkable and unforgettable experience.

I really wish I could make it. I hate that I won't be there. It was a great experience last year (even with the icky weather). I've only been at the new job a month now and can't take the time off to go.

Congrats to our forum members who have donated so much - it gives the kids at St. Jude a chance to live a long and healthy life!

For those coming to Memphis for the St. Jude Corvette Caravan and check presentation and those already in the area, you might be interested in the East End Grill cruise-in that Brice Caine coordinates as a St. Jude fund-raiser.

This year, he cut back from several to just one -- Saturday, Oct. 10, 5 p.m. until, at the East End Grill, 7956 Winchester at Hacks Cross (side parking lot).

Registration is $5 per vehicle. Donations accepted for St. Jude. Registration gift or door prize for each registered car. In the past they have offered registrants a dinner special coupon.
