Okay - who's got the scoop on a lightly modded c5z for sale? Preferably red or yellow. Would like to have exhaust/intake/tune minor bolt ons already
Going to go look at this one in concord tomorrow, but likely won't buy it as its 100% stock

So the car was actually in really good shape. Few things I pointed out to them such as
Alignment (steering wheel off and pulled right slightly, not tire pressues)
Driver side window regulator making noise and scratching glass
All 4 rotors needed to be replaced (wouldnt even pass inspection thats how worn they were)
Tensioner was going bad, sounded like ball bearings when lightly reving motor
Overall good car, but it was overpriced IMO. They didnt talk numbers with me because they wanted to look into the cost to repair the items, or what they would sell it as-is. I'm not going to buy it regardless. Just my opinion if anyone else wanted to go look at it
I liked the c5, but then i drove the c6z and was reminded how much better the c6 is. It's probably worth the wait to get the c6 really. I could live with the c5, but the interior is just so bad compared to a c5. I'm not a tall dude 5'10 at best and the c5 interior was kinda tight. Not overweight either, just typical "i like to drink beer and eat wings" on the weekend bod...

Further to my last post, I have been going back and forth on the c5 vs c6z
The c6z in my mind is the far superior car, however around double the cost...
I can buy a c5z tomorrow if i wanted to, or wait maybe a year and a half and buy a c6z. What keeps bringing me back to the c5z is the price, and I do want to do some HPDE events at CMP and the price for replacement parts/upgrades is far cheaper for a c5...
Also the c5z is pretty much fully depreciated now. I could buy a clean example, drive it for a year or 2 and then resell it for MINIMAL losses due to depreciate and market value (2k estimate)
What's you guys opinion??

C5Zs are awesome cars and still very capable on the road today. But the next level is definitely a C6Z....nothing compares to all that natural power.
Nothing wrong with a C5Z, just don't get a loud silver one....those are specifically made for ********.

Yea - there's always the risk of not being able to sell it or the market crashing, however I'd definitely need one that has had some work done to it already as driving a stock c5z was rather uneventful...
On the other hand, the cash could definitely be used better to pay off debt (student loans, wife's car, furniture though 0% financing). Not too sure. It's a juggling act of being financially responsible and buying a toy. I wouldn't buy until after the wedding (may 19th) to make sure everyone is paid off in full and no debt acquired from that whole fiesta.

FYI I did not like my 2008 C6 Z51 after owning the 2001 Z06. I put LG coil overs sway bars and many mods but it never drove like my C5 Z on track days and mountain roads. I was wishing I had never sold the C5 Z.
If you go with a C6 like others have said the C6 Z06 would be my suggestion. Just know you will most likely have to upgrades LS7 engine valve guides if you plan to drive the C6 Zo6 like you stole it!!!

I'm fully aware of the ls7 issues. I'd probably get the heads done by WCCH or AI.
Maybe one of you with a modified c5z could take me for a ride in theirs? Being in a not stock c5z may change my mind towards them a bit...
also z06 models are the only one's i'd consider buying

Paging DEnglish29 - any chance you wanna take me for a ride in your c5z?
Does anyone know what mods he has done? Somethings I'm seeing as must haves for a c5z
1) seats
2) intake
3) headers/xpipe
4) cam
5) c6z shifter or MGW shifter setup

Those seats in the c5 i drove were awfullll. It was slightly leaning to the side (guy must've been heavier) and I had a weird muscle cramp for 2 days. Recaros going in as first mod for sure
LFZ - you do any HPDE events at CMP? I'd like to go take the driver mod classes there to get some track time in

A good place to start getting into tracking your car is NCCAR in Garysburg, NC....there is a corvette group that hosts events there every year which is really good and excellent if you're just starting out. VIR is also a great track and pretty damn close as well. VIR is spectacular...by far my favorite track.
**I recently got out of track scene and sold all my gear. Its an expensive hobby, and I was tired of buying $600 brake pads, $2500 rotors, $2000 tires, $800 new carbon fiber side skirts, and other misc. consumables every 2-3 HPDEs. C6Z just eats that **** up.
