Be sure to say hello.
I'll be in the WGG 2018 Z06 Z07 leading or sweeping.
Looking forward to a fun event.
Please be respectful and do not queue up in T6, T12, or T17 only to go blasting down the straights. If you do, you will be black-flagged and may lose your remaining session(s).
Speeds will be limited to 70(ish).
Be sure to sign-up for hot-laps; the drivers that will offering them are very good and you will have a blast!
Last year, VIR raised almost $30k for charity from this event.

Yeah! This will be my fourth year participating, and it's one of my favorite days at VIR, besides IMSA weekend. I love to see what people bring out every year, from Ferraris to vintage and everything in between! I'll be sure to try and find you tomorrow! Gonna be a cold first run out there! Hoping I can take the top off in the afternoon, haha. I've got about 120 miles on the odometer, so I'm still doing the break in period. Holiday laps is a great way to do it! I always try and get hot laps in before I get out on the track again to practice the lines. Even slow practice makes perfect, right?

I'm not saying you'll never see speeds over 70; we just don't want 40+ cars in a train doing 20 MPH through the turns only to floor it down the straights. It's miserable and it's a safety/liability issue.
It'll be fun tomorrow, I promise.

If you come up and get on track be prepared for the great financial loss you will have once the monster bites. It can be a mighty addiction. In all seriousness it isn’t any more expensive than being an avid golfer playing several times a week. A lot more fun.
Oh and one thing DINKY forgot to mention is a helmet if you decide to try a HPDE event.

But seriously, people, HPDEs! Try one!

Dave, I saw your 'vette a couple times today and it is GORGEOUS! WGG was my color of choice, but I ended up in a black one (which is always a fine choice, too). Every time I went to grid I kept missing you, but I kept myself pretty busy all morning, too. Got in two sessions before lunch as well as a hot laps session, and then I saw you driving over to get lunch while I was walking to my car to head home. Hope we can catch up again some other time! I had a beautiful drive back to Raleigh today. I think I'm going to have this car a long time.

^^Beautiful color!
Sorry we missed each other.
What a fun day we had at VIR!
20 run groups with up to 80 cars out per session; it got crowded!
But we still blipped to over 100 on many occasions.
For me, the pinnacle was the Tarheel BMW driver rolling the Freightliner big-rig through the uphill esses at 83 MPH, executing flawless lines, smoking the brakes going into T1, then blowing the airhorn at the turnworkers after the checkered flag.
Totally awesome!

I do everything but the bike events. Now that my health seems to be rounding back into shape I'll probably start doing track days again.
Oh, and you should add the historic races to your regular rotation. They're my favorite race of the year.

Not that I don't appreciate the event news, but this is supposed to be a RALEIGH area meet up thread. VIR isn't even in NC. Does anyone even announce Raleigh meet-ups anymore?
