I don't think so. We dropped by, but there was nothing going on.

Holiday laps at VIR are December 1st. Who's going?

I'll be there around noonish.

Yve and I have never been to VIR but might be fun. How much to get on the track and how many laps do you get?

You get about 5-6 laps per session. The track is 3.27 miles around. Each session is $25, every cent of which goes to charity. I usually get in 3-5 sessions.

Too bad about Nervous Nancy in front of you. I got in a group with a Mustang club a while back and they hauled ***. I got a buck-40 on the back straight.

The turns, not so much. The gray car in front of my old C5 was making something like 770 to the ground.

You won't see anywhere near those speeds for this event, and we will make sure cars don't queue up in T12 & T17 to only run ape sh*t down the straights then crawl through the turns.

We'll limit speeds to 'highway' speeds, but you may see blasts higher here and there. In many of the sections of the track, that's more than fast enough for this type of event to have fun and push your cars on an awesome track for a good cause.

This is why we limit the speeds to 'highway'; drivers who have no clue how to drive a line get into trouble very quickly like the black Vette running off track in exiting T4 at ~1:51 mark.

If the EV's roll, the session is ruined for everyone.

Thumbs up for staying track right on exit.

You should consider doing an HPDE with us. Typically two days, but there are number of one day events as well. All you need is fresh brake fluid, decent brake pads, pants, and typically a long-sleeved shirt.

The wife and I do as many events as we can these days. It's a different world -- a good one -- and I love introducing new people to it.

If you come up and get on track be prepared for the great financial loss you will have once the monster bites. It can be a mighty addiction. In all seriousness it isn’t any more expensive than being an avid golfer playing several times a week. A lot more fun.

Oh and one thing DINKY forgot to mention is a helmet if you decide to try a HPDE event.

Be sure to say hello.

I'll be in the WGG 2018 Z06 Z07 leading or sweeping.

Looking forward to a fun event.

Please be respectful and do not queue up in T6, T12, or T17 only to go blasting down the straights. If you do, you will be black-flagged and may lose your remaining session(s).

Speeds will be limited to 70(ish).

Be sure to sign-up for hot-laps; the drivers that will offering them are very good and you will have a blast!

Last year, VIR raised almost $30k for charity from this event.

I'll go tomorrow, but if I can't go any faster than I can legally go on the way to the track, I probably won't come back. I'm not looking to do HPDE speeds, but an occasional blast over 100 is what made this event fun.
