South Florida service recommendation

South Florida service recommendation
My 500 mile oil change is now due and I also want them to look at the weatherstripping on the windows. I have a good deal of cabin noise and the weatherstrip on the driver side is obviously not as well seated as the passenger side. Basically, it looks just like another member's who posted some time ago with pics reporting the same problem. I didn't find any thing current regarding South Florida service recommendations. Any of you guys down here point me to a dealership and service rep that knows Corvettes please?

I have been happy with Lorenzo-Bomnin Chevrolet in Miami. Stan is the Corvette specialist mechanic. He works on Corvettes almost exclusively and seems to be very knowledgable. Stan will probably not do the oil change, but he will be the one to work on the weatherstrip. If you want to make an appointment, the web site is better, as they don't answer the phone ( a very high volume operation). You can just show up, but expect to wait a long while. Actually either way you will be there for hours waiting.

I take mine to Auto Nation Green Acres in West Palm. It is a long drive but I enjoy the drive on an early Saturday morning. The service advisor understands my mentality about my Z and he personally drives it to the techs and stays involved until it is done. He doesn't let anyone else drive it. I spied on him once and he was with the tech overseeing the work.

So....I have good news for those in Broward county after experience with two dealers. For those that don't desire the details...go with Ed Morse Sawgrass Chevrolet if your in need around this area.
My first trip however, was to Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet in Coconut Creek for the first oil change and to investigate the wind noise seemingly coming from the seat belt hole. They did change with Mobile One as confirmed by the GM part number, but.....the wind noise rendered the same we are too busy speak I've seen in other threads on the topic, "we test drove your car and the noise is COMPARABLE to other C7 Corvettes. When I asked why the comparable noise was only on the drivers side, my service rep handed me a GM notification regarding wind noise in convertibles (mines a coupe) when the windows are down. Problem solved! The entire affair took 4 hours and they parked my just washed Vette next to their sprinklers rendering my "please don't wash it" request to "I need to wash again." I DO NOT RECOMMEND Lou Bachrodt Cheverolet for service.
But.....here comes the happy ending.
After reading the useless GM memo, I figured it was time to bear down and use my hot Rodder skills of decades ago to figure out the wind noise issue myself. So, and this is a bit embarrassing, after but a couple of minutes of surveying the situation I realized the driver side door was not lined up as the passenger side was. It was pushed out at the top noticeably. Go figure how I didn't see it before, and it truly speaks to the concern the Bachrodt service team employs considering they didn't either. I called Ed Morse Sawgrass Cheverolet based on a recommendation from a Stingray owner I met at a New Years party and boy howdy I'm glad I did. I took the car in Monday and here is what Steve (service rep) and Casey (uber Vette guru) did:
a) Acknowledged issue with door as just wrong and a possible cause of the wind noise
b) Soent two days working to replace both hinges and striker to get it right
c) I saw Casey pull the car up on Tuesday all written up as ready, get out, look it over...then, drive it back to his bay. He wasn't happy enough with his work and kept it another day until it met his satisfaction.
d) Casey also decided he didn't like the occasional creak from the top, so he replaced the upper located on the back latch and lubed all weatherstrip.
This was a big job apparently. On Tuesday afternoon when I thought it would be ready, I hovered around the bay for a couple of hours and Casey and another tech were really going at it. They had to basically replace almost everything that holds the door on, readjust the window along with the door, then for good measure decided to fix the roof creak without me requesting it. The wind noise is now indeed comparable, but comparable to the other side of the car which is not much.
So....I RECOMMEND Ed Morse Sawgrass Cheverolet for service.
The place is a ding dang Corvette shop. They have a 64 convertible in their lobby and countless trophies regarding Corvettes in their display case. The weekend before, they hosted the Renegads Corvette Club meet, so I think I've found a shop that gives more than a damn about doing a good job on what can be a difficult car to work on.

Hey man.. I live in PBC. and have taken both my c6 & c7 Z51 there. Unfortunately, it seems like every time I get the car back, what I took it in for was fixed but after "couple" of weeks ... Something else needs to be fixed or replaced! I haven't been able to find a good "Corvette guy" around. There appears to be a Corvette and exotic car repair place in Davie on 441 and Davie Blvd....a bit too far for me, especially if I need to tow it there!
Will you please tell me the name of the Customer service rep. who you go to when you take it to the Autonation? What isle # 🤔 .... Thank you.

His name is Brad Owens. I believe lane one. The lane furthest to the right side when you pull up. I need to go there soon again for an oil change.

I live in Stuart so cannot comment on service departments in Dade/Broward and Palm Beach counties with one exception. Last summer (2017) when I was shopping to trade in my C6 on a C7 a what sounded like a real nice used 15 showed up on Auto Trader at AutoNation in Pembroke Pines. I made contact and drove down to their location only to find that the car was in the Body Shop having body panels replaced. They did not tell me about this and the sales guy said it would be ready for me to look at. The point of all of this on a maintenance question is how the car was damaged. The previous owner apparently brought it in for an oil change and it was dropped off of the lift. They brought a service manager in to tell me about it and he pointed out that the oil pan kept it from falling too far and that the pan had also been replaced so it was not a big deal and the new body panels would correct everything. I have to assume that the previous owner forced them to buy it from him when they dropped it. I managed to tell them to keep the car and never call me back w/o using a single swear word. BTW a few weeks later I traded for a new 17 at a dealer here in Treasure Coast.

Noticed this thread was a few years old.. can someone recommend what dealers in south Florida are reputable to take a c8z? Not sure if Stan at Bomnin is still around but I do remember him being great. if someone can give me a quick update I’d appreciate it..Thanks!
