***This is the Official 2018 Vettes4Vets Talladega Thread!!!!***

Sup everybody and early bird registration just opened up for the 2018 Vettes4Vets at Talladega Super Speedway this May 25th & 26th! If you early bird register you get a free T Shirt or Hat of choice.

FIRST AND FOREMOST!!!! When you register if you want to be racing with guys in the corvetteforum group indicate so by listing this in the "Club Affiliation" section of the webpage. Type that you want to run with the corvetteforum group & where you would like to run (up front, in the middle or at the back.)

Here is the link to pre-register:
https://vettes4vets.redpodium.com/ta...track-day-2018

For those of you that are new to the event or haven't yet signed up here is a quick overview of the 2 day event. You can run any car (no not just corvettes) on the track. There is a lead pace car and a trailing pace car. There is no passing allowed but we are spaced out nicely and its organized very well so as to get a nice feel for what the track is like.

For more information this is the main web page:
http://www.vettes4vets.org/

Reserve your hotel room. They book up quick! The main hotel many of us stay at is the Hampton Inn in Pell City located at 220 Vaughan Ln, Pell City, AL 35125
Phone: (205) 814-3000. It is not very far from the track. Mention the Vettes4Vets event and you will get a discounted rate.

Last year was amazing but had some challenges that have been addressed and hopefully will be none no more.

Once you register please let me know by posting or PMing me and I will post and update the potential running order as usual for all to see. I also will be in contact with Mark Davis from today until the event kicks off to attempt to make things more smoothly compared to last year. Please submit your First and Last Name and Corvetteforum Name: As you all know I try each year to coordinate a "Corvetteforum Group" and keep us running together for at least 2 runs minimum. PM'ing is the best way instead of replying or quoting the list so that we don't see multiple lists throughout the thread. I can just update the one main list.

Back for 2018 will be a CorvetteForum Group Photo!!! Last year...our good friend and photographer Mr. Tim, SoSlow, LeGros was nice enough to take this beautiful group photo of us all (well most of us...I promise I will be there this time Tim!!!).

Back for 2018 Meet and Eat: Last year we all got together and ate at the Buffet place across the street from the Hampton Inn which was just amazing! So much good food! You won't go away hungry! If its cool with everybody my recommendation would be we do this again this year.

I am open for any ideas or suggestions. Feel free to post or PM me!

Hey Jeff glad your on top of this already and you know how much we appreciate you doing this!! My Nephew Justin LeGros will be making the trip with me in his Pro Touring 1970 Z-28. I'm going to get him to sign up to run with us and he wants to run at the front of the group. I will run with him the first session but after that I want to run with the slow guys in the middle..

He will also be staying at the Hampton.

Tim, I remember you posting a pic of that Z-28 last year saying he will come in 2018. That is awesome he will run in our group. Those cars are badass.

I will be bring a different car than the last 3 I have had at the track (grins) Just found out today my 2018 GS will be built the first week of January.

Jeff, instead of a PM, I am registered for 4 sessions total. In the club affiliation field I signed up for corvetteforum.com run group (prefer mid pack). You know who I am.

Tim- Looking forward to seeing the Z/28.
Mike- I really like driving the '72 at the track but with no a/c I can't handle the heat anymore, lol. Looking forward to seeing your new GS.
Jeff-Thanks for your efforts in organizing this.
Vince and I just got back from Spring Mtn a couple of weeks ago. He can put his newly learned skills to work on the banking.

And because last year I bummed adult beverages off everyone this year I'm buying.. And also remember I'm a cheap drunk so no taking advantage of me after 2 beers...

Clint Keith walked over to the house the other day and he hadn't decided which vehicle he will bring this year..I wish I had his problem..
