Default Anyone live in Gatlinburg TN? Question...

All,

I plan on heading up to do some camping in the area next week which happens to be the same time as Corvette Expo. Since my car will be dirty and filthy, is there any self service car washes in/near Gatlinburg? I would rather clean the car myself than take it to a Car Wash for obvious reasons.

Thank you

I can't think of one off-hand in Gatlinburg but agree about Pigeon Forge having several at the gas stations on the main drag. I'm going to Gatlinburg on Thursday for their Fall festival and will post again if I see anything. If you're getting to Gatlinburg via Franklin, NC there is a 'do it yourself' place by McDonald's right before you go on the 441 bypass. Just a 2 hour drive from there and the car won't get dirty unless it's raining of course.

You have probably left already but the national park is real active with animal sightings right now. Yesterday we saw elk and turkeys BOTH on the way to Gatlinburg and going home.
Also we bought premium at a Marathon for $3.04. It is right at the end of town before you head towards the park.
Have fun!

Nice pics. I lived in western, NC and now eastern, TN and still have not seen Elk or even a bear in 10 years. How do I keep missing these.

Early a.m. and evening are key for animals. October is the 'rut' so a very busy elk season.
