Help removing ugly, car damaging Lambo doors
After years of waiting and decision making, I finally bought a 2014 Corvette Stingray 3LT last week. The car is gorgeous and so much more fun to drive.
Now the dealer said the doors open all fancy upwards. I didn't mind and thought I'm never going to use it. Later I found out the hinge for the lambo door actually chips off the front fender when the door is opened normally.
I hate this thing and its not a permanent mod. I took it to one of the body shops here and they quoted $1850 which seems a bit high. They said they don't get many corvettes.
I live in Atlanta. Are there better places that do this sort of thing? Can you refer me if you know trustworthy places?
I don't understand why would anyone fit lambo doors on a corvette..

I think you're going to be on your own with this. Keep checking for replies though.
Might want to ask in your Regional Forum for referrals to good local body shops.

Good luck.

Do you know what brand the lambo door kit is? Try and get a hold of the install manual. Then you will know what parts were taken off and you will need to buy.
Hopefully they didn't damage the door frame where the hinges etc will go.

I’m trying my best to figure out why you would buy a car with a major feature that you hate. There are plenty of Corvettes for sale that are unmodified. Or did you get a really really good deal on it?

I believe the way these things work is that you can use the lambo feature--or not, as you wish. That matches what OP said. There really is not much to the system: some fancy hinges and a shock absorber that allows the door to lift and stay put. It should not cost a ton of money to remove that gear and restore the doors to normal behavior.

I don't think lambo doors are ugly. I think they are cool as **** would love to get a countach one day. Not sure i would put em on my vette because they weren't designed to have them so a little hokey because of that.

I got a really good deal on it. I didnt think it would be a problem because the doors open both horizontally and vertically. I thought it'll just be an unwanted addition. I didnt realize the hinge scratches the front panel in its extreme open position. My bad I accept. I was really excited about the deal that I missed this. Everything else about the car is awesome though.

Not only messing up the paint but grinding into the front side panel. I'll post pictures when I get home. This has been bothering me day and night so I found the contact details of the previous owner (I know its not cool but desperate times call for desperate measures. Thought he'd have bought a Z06 or something.) Turns out he passed away.

It looks bolted on. Please don’t mind the dirt. Pollen everywhere!
The door actually sags a bit and messing up the locking/latching mechanism
The chipping/grinding I was talking about.
