Default Hickory Area Corvette Club

I see there are several members near Hickory.
Is there any interest in starting an informal get together for events.
Seems the nearest clubs are at least 1 hr away.

I’m interested in joining one too, but dont really have the skillset to organize and maintain a club...
Maybe a few of us can meet up and talk it over.
There is another thread about an Ashville club being discussed as well.

As I am new to thia area, i am uncertain where a good place to meet would be. But your suggestion for Arby’s sounds good to me!
I will PM you.

There used to be cars and coffee at the movie theater on catawba valley on the 1st Saturday of the month. Not sure if that' still happening. There' some hot rods that gather at the hot dog stand on 127 (up by the firehouse subs) some nights too.

There's a car show this saturday at hickory high before hickory hops.

There's also a car show at the Hickory American Legend Fairground on 4/21/2018.

I think I'll be going to the High School.

Cars and Coffee got shutdown when the theater got sold.

I just returned from a car show in Valdese at Myra’s- around 60 or so cars with 4 Corvettes. Met some really nice people and had a decent burger...
I took some pics but the lense on my lousy cell phone was dirty.

We are planning on going to the car show tomorrow in Hickory- anybody else going? Would be nice to meet some forum members!

Myra's is a fun time. I will probably be checking out the car show, but not entering. Gotta get over to hickory hops!

Good to see activity here. Just checked back. I thought I would get emails of reply's. Guess I'll have to check more often.

Looks like we will once again attend the event at Myra’s on Friday. Show starts at 6, but we got there around 5 the last time and there were a few cars already there. Hoping to meet another forum member... our c7 is a LBR m7.

Both are good shows. Already registered and have our room booked in Forest City.

Also talked to some guys at the Newton Rotary show Saturday. They have started a cruise-in at the Peddler on 321, just about next door to that Arbys'. It's every second Saturday of the month. Next one is May 12th.

I you guys go to these I'll have my '95 as my '80 is still up on jackstands. (The "while your at it syndrome")

They DO look like good shows! New to the area, 5 months now, and I didn’t know about them. I did check out the Rotary club meet last Saturday morning- lots more Vettes and Camaros than I’m used to seeing in this area... I didn’t enter mine but parked on a side street. There was a blue 61 Buick Invicta that was incredible.
I will try to attend that cruise-in on the 12th. Any idea as to what time they start?
Thanks!

Yea that Invicta was nice.

That cruise-in starts at 5, but people will be getting there earlier than that.

There is plenty of room for a Corvette club in the Hickory area. The 321/40 corridor is hot with growth and you can pull interest from Lincolnton, Lenoir, Marion and Morganton. If I can assist please let me know.

How many would be interested in meeting within the next couple weeks to see what the interest is? Maybe we could meet at Myra's Cruise In in Valdese or Corvettes for Vets or the Vettes for Vets.

Hickory area peeps ever establish a club? New to the area. Seen a few around. C6 GS in Conover, Gray C7 GS at Target in Hickory, a few others…I’m driving a C7 GS Black Rose.
