Kent's pics from the COR run to Big Bear 6-19-10
It was a great sunny day to have a Corvette run to Big Bear. We took hwy 38 thru Redlands going up the back way.
Taking off on the I-10 freeway.
Richard in his C5 coupe.
Tony and Josie are in their 08 JSB supercharged coupe. Tony likes to get on the gas when he can.
Ok Joe, it's your turn to go first and I'll see if I can keep up! LOL
Just before we reach the bottom of the mountain.
We pulled over at the base of the mountain so Joe could mount his new video cameras. These are a great play tool for racing and spirited driving enthusiasts.
Joe's very cool custom 360 Degree Wheels.
Richard watches Joe mount his cameras.
Jimbo's Black Beauty Z06.
Emi cruising the parking lot waiting to start our run up the mountain.
It's only a short run up the hill before we reach our breakfast spot and we meet Doug and Jed with their wives.
The COR group settles down for breakfast and it was really good food too!
Who is that hiding behind the menu over there? LOL
We are back on the road and heading for Doug and Sue's house in Big Bear. We can't wait to see his huge garage on his property.
We reach Doug and Sue's place and we find plenty of parking for our Corvettes along his driveway.
Jim is in awe as he takes a look at Doug's man cave for all of his cars.
Doug rolls up the door and we take a look inside his cave.
There is a nice four post lift in the corner where the serious work is done in the garage.
The guys talk over the serious issues of the nation for a few minutes!
I'm sure the ladies are talking about the amazing driving skills of the men who drove them up the mountain this morning, or maybe NOT!!! LOL
Doug has a small Kubota backhoe to move snow or dirt on his property as needed.
Doug plans to sell this Mustang and then purchase another C6, maybe a convertible to enjoy the mountain sunshine.
I can't wait to see the video footage that Joe shot as we drove down the mountain. I was really on Joe's rear end during some legal passing areas and they should look great, I hope the video turns out.
We will see you soon,
The COR Group

Thanks for the pics - it was fun running the hills - except for the rollin houses we had to go around!
