Default Good Mechanic in Los Angeles ?

hi everybody
I'm new to LA. I live in the Hollywood area, but I went to Keyes Chevy (in the valley) for an oil change last week.
A few days later now, my check engine light is on.

I'd like to take her in to a Vette specialist instead of the dealer.

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the LA area ?

thanks for your help everybody (of course I'm freakin' out a little)

Tim over at Mike Bradley's Automotive in Chatsworth works on new and older Corvettes. Great guy, very thorough.

I've got a C2 and C5, he works on both, along with all my other cars. For dealer work, many use Donny at Rydell in Northridge, also fantastic.

hopefully they didn't mess up anything when they did the oil change.
It was only 100 or so miles later that the check engine light went on.

A few months ago I was pricing out getting some work done and contacted Spot 28 as it was recommended on this forum. I called multiple times, left a voicemail, and emailed but I never received a reply, nor was I able to reach the shop. Do you guys just drive over there or is there a different contact method?

Default Rydell Chevrolet

Rydell Chevy in Northridge; 15 min away on 101.

Donny Yorke is their Top Corvette Mechanic and GM Certified World Class Technician.

While you dont need him for an oil change; the team there is great and Donny can consult if a major issue came up.

Also they can do recalls (hatch, headlight harness) and rental comped under warranty.

David Joslyn is the Asst. Service Mgr.

People come from much farther away than Los Angeles to have Donny work on their cars. Another high recommendation from me for Donny and the Rydell team.

Might I recommend getting the code off the DIC and posting it here? Perhaps we can help narrow down what exactly happened. And I'm a curious puppy too..
