Default Need a Car Trailer from LA to Murrieta

Need to get my disabled, lowered C6Z from Los Angeles (by LAX) down to a shop in Murrieta. Insurance would only cover a 20 mile tow and the shop is around 90 miles away from my place. Most tow companies want $700-$900 for the tow which I refuse to pay that much. Looking to rent a car hauler and truck to take the Vette down there but I'm relatively new to the area. Any help or anyone that can point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

Look at U-Haul or Penske, maybe even Hertz.. They have trucks and trailers that you should be able to rent for a one-way tow. These will be open trailers but I do't believe they come equipped with a winch. Check with them to see if they can set up a trailer with a winch installed on it.

Might consider upping your tow coverage as the cheapest way. Car trailers have been hard for me to find and required scheduling them. That cost, plus that of a rental tow vehicle may be costlier than the added tow premium.

Best is a buddy who has a rig!

Sign up for AAA premium - I think it is like $100 for the year. They will tow you 100 miles each tow. And you can use it multiple times per year.

Or AAA Premium Plus. 150 miles of towing and free services at AAA so you don't have to be bothered with the Kalifornia DMV.

Yeah I just signed up for the AAA membership and have to wait 90 days to to activate the plus membership that gives the 100 mile towing radius. Didn’t know about it until AFTER the fact. Trying to avoid Uhaul trailers since the car is low and not drivable at the moment.

Though my Vette was only trailered once, the doors conflicted with the trailer fenders, so open windows were the access!

With the plethora of old cars, I was forced to AAA+, despite their middling service. They do most, not all DMV and I was surprised to learn all their paperwork is mailed to the state.

See if Ryne has any referrals for budget friendly transporting.

He has tons of customers that have dedicated track cars who tow their cars, so maybe even somebody like that is willing to help a guy out for a small fee.

just grab the uhaul trailer and have boards handy to drive on to raise the car up a bit. It's not optimal but won't be bad for a one-time tow.
