DH,

I just checked out their Facebook page and it looks like a great series with a lot of good cars/drivers out there.
https://www.facebook.com/NMCAWESTAutoX/

Are there any beginners, like me? Next Sunday will only be my third time out, and it's all been here in Camarillo.

Also, do you know if there will be a Speed Limit event in April?

Thanks,
Chris

Chris, beginners are always welcome at the Byrd events. Open courses, good speed and transitions, and easy to read. If it fits your schedule I highly recommend going.

There are no Camarillo dates scheduled in April or beyond at this time.

Thank You. That sounds good.

I'll have to double-check my schedule for April. I don't think I'm working that weekend, but I better make sure.
I better check with my wife too and see if we had anything else going on.

I hope you get more Camarillo dates. It's super fun, well organized, and it's close to home for me, which is great if something happens or in case family wants to come out and watch or ride along.

Chris, as Casey confirmed. No other Camarillo AutoX for April. Look at my video from last weekends NMCA a few posts down on this page. You will see its an easy course to learn. Tons of great cars. Stop worrying about being a beginner, everyone has been one.

I may try to make it out to the Saturday event. Would be my first time Auto-X and first time really pushing the Z I just bought about a month ago. Might need new tires before heading out though! Mine are about 9 years old...

DH
DH, Thanks for the encouragement.

It looks like my son won't be doing his Eagle Scout project until the end of April, so I went ahead and signed up for both the 14th & 15th.

Now I just need to find a hotel for that Saturday night because I don't think I want to drive all the way from Camarillo to Fontana both days. If you have any suggestions, fire away. If not, I'll just hit Google and see what's out that way.

The course layouts at Fontana look fun and I look forward to trying it out. Of course, I'll have to watch you guys first and see how it's supposed to be done.

Chris

I have no idea about hotels. The drive to the event in the morning is easy but coming home is a PITA! I will only be there on Sunday. See you there

I may join you there, DH, but I've got some calendar grooming to do. Also, my youngest daughter wants to go to the track in her Mini Cooper S so that might be a good event for her. I'll let you know.

There is no Camarillo AutoX for April. So this appears to be the best option if you want some AutoX seat time.

Anyone else going to sign up before its sold out ?????

Here is video of my best time 54.94 in second session. Couldn't beat it in last session (best was 55.00). I think everybody but me got faster in last session, including Chris. I think I need a shrink

And I like this Camaro. Zoom the picture if you can't read it ......

DH,
RIFRAFT only needed one day to get it done.
He came out, won the class, and went home smiling.
