If you are on the fence on joining this fun fest, I say, just do it. Don't second guess your abilities, as there is no race here, just good people having fun together. That includes you Dustin

I've been looking forward to this Saturday for months now, but unfortunately, it looks like I'm probably not going to make it.
I was under the car, finishing up a couple things and saw that one of my lower control arms is broken and the other one is cracked.
I'm running the VBP dual-mount front spring, so it uses as special control arm - Not something that's easy to get on short notice.
I thought about pulling the old control arms out of the parts pile and going back to a regular coil spring, but I think that I scrapped the old, worn out springs. So I may be out of luck.
I'll see what I can come up with, but time is short due to my son's graduation.
You guys have fun out there, and I'll try to make it next time.

Thanks for the offer. I've been working on it today, in between getting things ready for a graduation BBQ, and it looks like the it's going to take a fair amount of work/rebuilding.
I scraped the crud off the old a-arms and replaced the 47 yr old ball joints. I also found a set of 460lb springs, so I'm about to cut a coil off of them and try to get in put together after the BBQ tonight.
If I don't get it done, I'll wrap it up in the morning and meet y'all somewhere along the way. Worst case, I should still be able to get to Solvang in time for the afternoon drive.

I was planning to bring the misses, but my son isn't feeling well (He isn't that sick, just enough that Grandma shouldn't baby sit). So I'll be riding solo. See everyone tomorrow.

Got the car back together, hit the 101 at warp speed to catch up, and somehow ended up ahead of the group.
Looks like we’ll have to pull over here and wait a bit for them to catch up to us now.
