If you go too fast you "break out". I was running in the 190 class and I went over that.

The class winner is the one that gets as close to 190 without going over. It is tough to calibrate your speedometer error without taking many runs.

I guess I'm wondering why you broke out and Joel was allow to go 200mph?

Maybe you could try a GPS app on your cell phone to help with the speedo correction factor...???

The Mojave Magnum mile has many safety regulations for car, driver and equipment.
In order for me to be able to run over 190, a few things had to happen. For starters, a stick Z06 needs a few mods to get over 200 in the 1.5 mile run. More importantly, not only must the car have additional safety items, harness bar, 5 or 6 pt restraint, and proper tires, but the driver must have a number of safety items in place as well: SFI Fire suite gloves shoes , hans, ect...

Tech must approve you and the car to the class you want, then you have to make a qualifying run, then you are good to go!

If you missed it, you have missed it!

Got an Email that there will be no more Mojave Magnums. The company is going out of business.

Glad I did it when I could.

I'd like to clarify this just a bit, since the statement that that they are going out of business can be a bit misleading...

The FACT of the matter is that due to the death of the bike rider, the FAA has told the Mojave Air and space port that they will no longer allow them to have the car/bike events at their runway, who then passed that on to MKM racing, effectively ending the Mojave mile events.

Since Mojave is literally one of the only runways long enough and previously in agreement to hold these type of events, there just is no other options as to where to hold them...

Thank you, I'm working on a memorial video for the family of the the deceased biker...
