Dad Passed Away...(RKS99FRC)
It is with a very heavy heart that I have to break this news. As some have already heard I lost my father (RKS99FRC) this last weekend. Many of you, especially those at the Block, were good friends with him and he loved chatting or telling stories with anybody who would give him an ear.I will miss him dearly each and every day.
As with some of you he was proud to have served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He worked for Chevrolet dealerships most of his life and loved the Corvette acquiring his first in about 1971. We had planned to go to Bowling Green together as Father and Son at the end of August on a 10 day road trip. In his honor he will still be going and I will be driving his car on the trip.I can thank my dad for giving me the passion that I have for racing and Corvettes as he got me deeply involved when I was a young kid. I got to spend many years traveling the country as part of a professional race team which I would have not done if not for him. I would give anything to have him back and share stories one last time.
We are hoping to have a gathering of his friends near the end of July. Saturday I will have his car and a guestbook at Cars and Coffee and will do the same at the next block event.
I love you Dad....Godspeed!!!

So sorry to hear about your dad’s passing, Brian. He was a really nice man. Always talking to people. My son always looked for him and his car whenever we attended car meets. I was just catching up with him at the last Irwindale race. My son and I will miss him. Rest In Peace Sir Rick.

I appreciate all the kind words fellas. My Dad loved cars and especially Corvettes. His passion will live on through me and I will be forever grateful. He always loved getting together with all of you and sharing his life stories. I feel very lost without him.

So sorry to hear buddy. I bumped into him not all that long ago at CNC and shared some typical Rick laughs / smack talk. Good times going all the way back to Fuddruckers off El Toro. Please keep us posted as to any services as I'd love to roll out and honor your dad in a proper fashion.
God speed, Rick.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Rick will be missed at all the gathering and was always a great guy to talk to. I don't visit the Forum that often and today is the first I have heard of him passing. Again so sorry for your loss.
