Default Corvette Magnetic Calibration Update - Socal Dealers

Hey guys, I'm having the hardest time trying to find a dealership in Socal that would perform this update. They simply have no clue what I'm talking about and think it's a recall of some sort. I did find one (Sierra Chevrolet) which wants to charge me over $400 for the update which makes no sense since the MSRP cost is $350. Has anybody from Socal had success in getting this update applied to their C7 for the standard MSRP price?

Just did this at Tom Bell Chevrolet in Redlands CA. It was their first time and I needed to fully explain it and go over the paperwork and directions found in the other forum threads on this issue. I also showed them the Ask Tadge info. The general manager Derek Hansen and the shop foreman John Turner were extremely helpful in researching this with GM and are now very knowledgeable about the process. The electronics tech Jeremy did the download in short order. They were very willing to learn about this new item. Good experience.

Bob Stall Chevrolet down here in La Mesa did mine (18 GS w/o Z07) for just the cost of labor.

Thanks! Seems like most dealers need their hands to be held by the customer, haha. Unfortunately Redlands is way to far for me to bring my car. Did they have your car sit overnight?

Nice! I'm guessing since you own a newer year that's still under warranty they helped you out? I don't mind the drive to La Mesa if they would charge just labor but I doubt they would do it on a 2014 that's out of warranty.

Paradise Chevrolet in Temecula did mine for $350. My car was the third they had done, so they are experienced. Drove home as soon as they finished and let it sit overnight in my garage.

I did mine at Sierra and they charged me $350. Just make sure you bring a print out of the bulletin and they'll honor that price. My service advisor was Deniz and he said mine was the 2nd they've done this on.

Thanks for the info. Sierra is a better drive for me for sure but one of the Service Advisors (Brian) said they've only done one. I'm guess it's yours and that the cost to get it done would be over $400. I don't remember the exact amount. Even though I told him MSRP is $350 he repeatedly stated that's how much we charge here. I'm wondering if you'd be able to PM me a picture of your service invoice so I can show him?

No. The "update" is basically us poor saps paying to get our previous year models updated to 2019 calibrations.

Is this upgrade complete for SOME of the 2018 models from the factory? If so, how can we determine if it is done?
