Default What's The Proper Corvette Wave?

When I'm driving and see another Corvette headed towards me in the on-coming lane, I usually put my left arm out the window and give a "Thumbs Up" sign to the other driver. Is there a better, cooler, proper way to acknowledge another Corvette driver on the road? Just wondering. I wasn't sure if there was a super top secret hand gesture only Corvette owners share, and I didn't get the memo

Just holding your hand up in acknowledgment is fine. A thumbs up will not necessarily get a response. A full on back and forth wave is too much. Plus some vette owners are snobs and will only wave to newer vettes like there's.

GREAT! Then I wasted a lot of time practicing my "Parade Wave."

Thumbs up seems to be the Texas way. I am an equal opportunity giver and receiver.

Not necessarily, I wave at every Corvette I "SEE". The other day traffic was unusual and I was having to pay extra attention to crazy folks ahead of me and at the last minute I noticed a fellow Vette owner passing me and waving. It was too late to return the way and I just hoped they didn't think I wasn't the kind that didn't wave.

Waving at a Corvette on the other side of the street or freeway doesn't always work, but flashing my headlights does.

I use the works most of the time in getting a response. Although some times I get a blank stare.

The fact that you even get a wave back in SoCal once in a while is pretty impressive.

I wave. I get waves. But.....when my grand kids see another Corvette.........well, they wave like you can't believe. I mean they wave and love doing it. The fellow drivers that they are waving to get a big kick out of it for sure. And, of course, they wave back.

By the way, how many grandkids can you get into a Corvette?

Great question. One that the grand kids have very carefully worked out. I have 5. The oldest sits in the passenger seat. The next on her lap. Then one on the floor. One straddles the console but is careful to not block the stick shift. And of course, the youngest curls up in the rear, under the hatch.

Not to hijack, but the kids (not so young anymore) all love the Corvette. Fighting all the time as to which one will get it when I head on to my reward!

I'm probably taking this "Wave Thing" too far. Driving my yellow 'vette today, I waved at a yellow Mustang! He even waved back! (Probably had him scratching his head!)

That is too funny. The exact same thing just happened to me. Seriously. We waved to a bright yellow Mustang and he waved back to our bright yellow Corvette. Gotta love it.

If that was the same yellow Mustang that I waved at, the poor guy must be totally confused!

Ya gotta have a sense of humor if you're driving a bright yellow car! One time I had to pick up my wife in front of the courthouse. Lots of people around. I stepped out of my Corvette and announced: "Anybody call for a cab?" Everybody broke down laughing, except for my wife. She about killed me!

If you're not waving, you are clearly incapable of driving the car in the manner prescribed by the manufacturer!
