Default Recommend a San Diego dealer?

Purchased my C7Z used a few weeks ago and warranty is about to run out soon. Want to take it in for a couple things, but the dealer closest to me did not instill much confidence when I was there (I'll leave them unnamed for now). As far as I can tell, there aren't any high volume Vette dealers in SD. But can anyone recommend a dealer (and even a service advisor) in San Diego that they trust?

Why is it when someone has a negative experience with a dealer they are afraid to name them? Would be nice to alert others.

I didn't have a negative experience. They were just really busy when I went to talk to the service dept. But for all I could know, they might have the best mechanics in the area.

So what is the big secret as to who they are?

Back to the original question. Can anyone recommend a San Diego dealer with a competent service department?

So the OP, based on his observations, does not have confidence (his words) in a specific dealer, But he won't tell us who the dealer is so WE can possibly make a mistake going there. Then he asks US for help in finding a dealer for service. What 's wrong with this picture?

It was Jimmie Johnson. You happy?

I have no direct experience with this dealership's service dept. I don't see why I should warn people about something I know nothing about. It was just a *gut* feeling. And as it turns out, Jimmie Johnson's service dept. came highly recommended by a San Diego County Corvette Facebook group I belong to.

That said, I will now likely go with Jimmie Johnson as it's more convenient than Bob Stall. Should JJ not work out for some reason, I'll try BS.

Thanks, again, to those who were helpful.

Believe it or not you may actually help someone out who is also on the fence about using J.J. Chevy. Thanks.

Yes, Bob Stall sells a boat load of Corvettes. Probably more than any other dealer in SD, however they are geographically undesirable for me. I use Quality Chevrolet in Escondido. I use Wes Parkhurst as an SA and he is very knowledgeable, but you may not be able to. They just moved him to fleet work and I think he is only handling clients he has worked with previously. But feel free to try if that is a good geographical choice for you.

Good to know about Bob Stall, thanks!

I've made an appt. with Jimmie Johnson in Kearny Mesa. I was advised to schedule with a specific SA and mechanic. Will report my experience with them after my appt. on Thursday.

Bob Stall has excellent personnel knowledge of Corvettes! I've taken my C5 their multiple times and never had any negative service. Just bought a C6 2008 and will continue use Bob Stall. Also, a very good Auto Service in San Carlos is "San Carlos Auto Service" they have excellent service and very knowledgeable personnel, they've been servicing my 2001 Ford Lightning and my Vette for years.
Two excellent choices in my book.

I agree, Jimmie Johnson has serviced all my Vettes. I did have a problem with Stall, they refused to aligh my vette because it had been lowered on the stock bolts.

Glad to hear others have had good experiences with Jimmie Johnson, too!
