For years I have bought MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN POLICIES from Mercury Insurance. You should at least shop them to compare. I get PLATINUM COVERAGE with SPECIAL ELECTRONICS to cover my HUD and NAV with zero deductible, 7 year / 84,000 miles. You can adjust coverage level, duration and deductible.

WOW! This is turning out to be a tough nut to crack.. Called several local San Diego dealers. The one I bought from hasn't gotten back to me; after I mentioned I would rather buy the GM or Chevy plan versus their "in house" profit center plan. Tried Bob Stahl, but had a very difficult time just breaking through the phone barrage of "special" offers wanting everything but my mother's maiden name and address to get started. Left messages all over.
Thanks for the leads to Abel & Mercury, I'll exhaust a few more locals before I try them.
Seems to be something about California re-classifying all extended car warranties as insurance. Which requires all warranty vendors to be licensed as insurance brokers and fall under the California insurance czars' scrutiny?
Update:
No locals so far offer GMEPP or Chevy PP.
Abel Chevrolet Buick in Rio Vista, CA does. Rich Willhoff is emailing me a quote. Sounds good on the phone.

An update. Just talked to Rich at Abel. He set me up with another 60 months (5 yr) and 60,000 miles from tomorrow on my 2016 that still has 8 months remaining on the B2B original warranty. Don't know if I will keep the car that long but if I do sell it should make it a much easier sale. That will give the car a bit over 7 years and 70,000 miles of total warranty for me and any private buyer of the car. I paid a premium for my 2008 Z in 2012 because the owner had bought a GM ext warranty when he bought the car that covered it out til Aug of 18. That and the fact the car only had 4200 miles on it and was pristine was enough for me to buy it and travel aross country to do so and drive it back here.
