Default Valley GTG, January 12 9:00am

It's that time again. Time to usher in the new year with a valley GTG. 9:00am, Rhinaldi and Tampa. Hope to see you there. Please post up if you plan on being there so we don't leave without you.

I'm in.
Got a fixit ticket for no front license plate. I want to get a easily removable type device to get the ticket signed off. Any suggestions?

This is what I use:
Front Plate Holder Linky

I cut a slit in the middle (the top thin part) and heat it up using a heat gun and bend it slightly to the correct bumper shape. Then I put a slight bend in the plate and call it good.
Seems I paid way less than that though.

This is the one I got on eBay for $23. It has sticky dots on the back of the bracket that adhere to the painted part of the bumper. Very easy to remove and not leave a mark, when you are cleared. No drilling required and this is how Chevrolet designed it. Many people are using a magnet on the inside of the bumper and a the metal of the plate holds long enough to get it signed off. But, if you fet a cop who wants to be a stickler, they might want to see it permanently mounted. If they pull on this, the mount will stay on as it takes a little initiative to get it loose. They just want to see it is not a temporary install using magnets. If they catch a smarty with the temp fix, they can get pretty creative with other fixit tickets to hit you with. One person on another forum had a front plate turn into having to remove his window tint and the officer started measuring the height of his headlights and wanted to check the exhaust for noise pollution.
Here Here
are the sticky dots I found to adhere to the bumper. The suck thing is I cannot find you a link to the bracket for less than $80. The part number is 15236172, if you want to search for it.

We will play this by ear, but so far, it doesn't look promising for a run. More to come, thoughts?

Raining most of next week plus I will be on travel, not much time to check in unfortunately, but I will keep that in mind.

Looks like rain in the A.M. will miss this one. Will be available next week if we can get it in.

In lieu of the rain for our monthly drive, and in light of my urge to drive fast I'm going to track my Corvette for the first time this upcoming Sunday at Streets of Willow. I just checked the weather and it will NOT be raining
