No way in hell would I park a classic car on the street. If I can't garage it I do not need to own it. I did not get a Corvette until I had a garage.

The article says that he washed it, went inside for a minute and it was taken at that point.
Regardless, it isn’t his fault, even if he stored it outside with the keys in the ignition.

What? Not sure what you are smoking but I can only imagine when you make a statement like that.

The second is a fact - it is not a victim’s fault that someone stole their stuff. There are always things people could have done to prevent it but the bottom line is that the owner didn’t arrange it to be stolen - it is 100% the fault of the jerk who thought he should be able to just take what he wants.
Not sure why you feel the need to resort to trying to insult someone.

Let me make this real clear....to you. You said even if he stored it outside with the keys in the ignition it is not his fault. Wake up! If this was the case he just as well put a sign on it that says take me. Not an insult. Just a fact.

It’s not his fault. Unless he told someone to take it.
If someone stole your vette from your garage, would it be fair to say you should have had a second lock? An alarm on the garage? An immobilizer on the car? A guard dog? A security patrol? A building within your garage to park the car? At what point does it stop being your fault? The answer is that it is not your fault that someone steals your stuff no matter how much or how little you do. but there is a sliding scale of deterrents you can put in place.
let me be clear: I don’t think people SHOULD leave nice stuff out and easy to grab. i am saying that while we should able to walk away from our stuff and know that it will be there when we return, unfortunately we live in a world where we have to have a secured shelter to keep nice things in because there are plenty of jerks out there.

But the difference is I took precautions to have it secured in a garage. If he had left it on a street with the keys in it he DESERVES to loose it. Can't explain it any clearer. Have a nice day!

we both agree that he would be a fool to leave it parked with the keys in it.
But he isnt losing (not loose) it, someone is stealing it. Again, as foolish as you or I want to label someone’s behavior, it is not a victim’s fault that someone breaks the law to violate them.
You can have the last word - I’m not going to go back and forth any more.
