What's with the pie?
Or should I say, where is the pie?

It seems the route and ending point are to be kept secret. But I believe you'd get a better turnout if folks could know ahead of time how long and how far the ride was going to be on that particular day. Live about 8 miles from the block, but I have a family that requires I know what I'm committing to before I leave. Maybe it's just me though. I would like to go on one of these though

You can show up and if the trip is too long, you can always drop out. These trips usually take 4-5 hrs. including lunch.
These are always well planned and executed runs. I've never been dissapointed.
Did you google "area famous for apple pies in southern ca."??

I didn't google it, but I'm going to guess Julian. I may make it tomorrow. Sounds like a good time.

I just ordered Two Cherry Apple for tomorrow. It is always a good run to Julian. Google Julian pie company. They have a list of pies they make. The Cherry Apple usually sells out fast. That's why I order ahead.

Just so everyone knows, we don't actually go to Julian. No one likes to park their 'vette on the street (at least I don't), so we do the next best thing...we eat at the Apple Country Restaurant next to the Julian Pie Company.

Sparky needs a navigator too. So he won't visit Camp Pendleton on the way to Julian. Smash:

Another grand day at The Block. !0 cars showed and 10 cars went on the cruise to the Apple Country Restaurant right next door to the Julian Pie Company.

We took Mesa Grande Rd. on the way home...holy crapola, what a windy road. Came around one turn a tad to fast and ended up completely in the oncoming lane. My angels were with me that time!!! Soooo, that road will be part of the cruise from now on, going to the Apple Country Restaurant.

A PERFECT DAY WITH GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT CARS AND GREAT FOOD!

Thanks again Raul for your kindness from Pat, Doc and myself.

See everyone next month for another super cruise to parts unknown...

All the best,

Sparky

Yes, another great day!!
Thanks Sparky and Pat.
I went back the way we came--the 76--to the 15N to Elsinore, then over the Ortega to the 5.
Good drive. Lots of cops on the 76. Heavy traffic, but MOST of the folks were moving along.
How hard is it to use a turn out when you have 15/20 backed up behind you??

Thank you Sparky and Pat for organizing another adventure. Michele and I stopped in Julian and walked around a little bit. Bought some trinkets and headed back on the 78. Got home and had some awesome pie. Good times.

Thanks everybody for coming. Good people, good food, great cars. We did have one person try to get in somebodies elses car. I won't name names. But she did share a onion ring with me. The cherry apple pie was great.
