I was going to leave early Sunday morn, decided in case it rains to go down sat. afternoon, find a decent hotel near Poway and have a nice short drive in the morning to the Venue. Its only a car, unless you have a name for it and you have conversations with it , then maybe you should not go.

We've all been using the new ceramic spray on our cars. The rain falls off our cars and you can wipe a car off with one yellow towel. Incredible new stuff. I don’t care about the rain. I’m too old to worry about water on the car. Lol. But that’s me! See you guys tomorrow!

That's my point. You say it's only a car and it's only rain but you are going down the day before and getting a hotel to avoid the rain outside of the venue area. If people want to drive out in the rain and sit at a car show looking at wet cars in the rain that's fine. I don't spend time meticulously going over the car cleaning to the point of tooth picks and tooth brushes and pulling the wheels to clean them only to drive 100 miles in the rain to a car show, sit in the rain looking at other wet cars and then driving back another 100 miles in the rain just to show that I am not afraid of rain or worried the car might melt. It's not worth it to me. If you don't mind it, that's great, have fun and hope enough folks show up to make it worthwhile. My guess is that if it is raining, you will have less than a 50 percent turnout. Most time the weather cooperates and other times it doesn't. This just happens to be one of those years when the weather will impact the show.

My wife and I enjoyed the show despite the weather, we always come down on a Friday and head home on Monday.

Had a good time and I was glad to see West Coast Corvettes back there as a vendor, I picked up a set of chrome hood struts for the C6 which I have been wanting to do and I got them at a great discounted price.

We are already looking forward to next year.

I enjoyed talking with "Bobby" (I hope I remembered that correctly) a new C7 GS owner, orange, who parked right next to us ('09 Cyber Gray C6 black wheels with blue Zo6 calipers) -

Thanks, Matt

Matt,
It was a pleasure to meet you. I enjoyed talking to you and a few others. That is until the rain came down and then the talk stopped and people either hopped in their cars or broke out the umbrellas. My wife and kids showed up, but I couldn’t see making them stay there in the rain, so I left a bit early. Looking forward to the next event and some sunshine. Again, it was nice to meet you.

Bobby

I kept thinking it would stop raining and dry up... like it always does in San Diego... but it NEVER did... well, until I was home in the garage!
On the bright side, the rain kept some of the garage queens home... allowing me to steal 3rd place in C1 category with my survivor!
Plus, this was good rehearsal for my planned cross-country route 66 trip this summer!

That's great GIO. I wasn't going to brag, but I did win 4 raffle prizes as well! The trophy was just the icing on the cake.

Good turn out considering the rain. No fair weather cars (or owners) at this show!

I found that the color-correcting tools on Google Photos can ALMOST make it look like a sunny day!
