Are there any plans to meet locally and caravan to the P.G Rally on Friday Aug. 17th?

Me and TSW71 were throwing some ideas around.
He was going to lead, as I am about as directionally ept as a jello mold. I think the older cars are gonna lead the pack this time around. Still not sure where we're going to meet, I think the caltrain lot on monterey highway...

I am willing to lead a carravan on Friday afternoon. If someone else would like to lead, that's fine with me. I'm not planning any high speed runs down 101(I prefer to keep it under 85mph), so if you plan to break any land speed records, I may not be the best pick for leader. On the other hand, if anyone is willing to take the lead in order to draw out the CHP , then by all means, take the lead. I'll do my best to keep up.

My initial thought was to wait until a week or two leading up to the event before doing any formal organizing of the carravan. If anyone thinks we should begin organizing now, that will be fine too. Since the check in is from 1:00-5:00 , I thought we might try to depart San Jose by 1:00 or 2:00 at the latest. This should give ourselves plenty of time to get there and get a chance to talk before the event starts. I have never done this before, so I am open to all suggestions that anyone has.

Regardless of who leads, we should
use this thread to work out a time and place that everyone is comfortable with. Lets hear your ideas.

Tom

TSW71, sounds good to me, we should probably wait till it gets a little closer. I was thinking of leaving around the same time you mentioned. I also agree to keep using this thread for follow up info
