Don't forget this saturday the 28th is the last full day of drag racing at Sears Point since they will be shutting down till late fall for complete $36 millon redesign of track.
Once Sears shuts down, Sac raceway will be overbooked with rice burners since that track has to then handle all Sears and their customers so make Sears your choice of event this weekend.
See you there ..
Let's Go a Racing . . .

Being the last drags at Sears for this year the place was packed.
Took about 2 hours plus to get another run.
I had 3 runs, though the first run was the first car out that day and they had just sprayed the track down, no sun and about 55 degrees, thus no traction at all.
My ETs were 12.7, 12.5 and 12.4 at
119, 122 and 124 MPH all three with 2.0 60 foot times. Need slicks, just cannot get constant traction.
Teammate George runnung the first time with a high stall convertor, ran a 12.9 and teammate Willie with his XR-1 was pulling low 11s.
I was able to tune out all knock and control engine timing better so next objective is to find right wheels/tires for my '99.
My runs can be reviewed gear by gear at

Woah -- 124 MPH is *very* healthy! Is this the same Mallet 435 car making 407 RWHP on the dyno, or a different beast? My best MPH so far is 124 MPH as well, and I'm making 515 RWHP...

yes same '99 C5.
the rear gear is a 3.73 and I tuned the timing so that I got the power but have no dang traction in shifting for 2nd and 3rd gears. It hauls as to MPH but with these 30 series tires, E.T is 12.4 but if I can find wheels like maybe 15 or 16 inch with some good slicks I can get into high 11s.
The torque with my tuning is now about a flat line and just a few pecent less then the HP number so the car hauls if I could only reduce wheel spin.

I managed to increase traction with 7 second burnouts and lauched at idle.
I never did get another chance to practice since the track had so many cars and bikes.
I ran 12.97 at 107, and the car hooked very nice.
First run was a mid 13 since I shifted to neutral and then to OD and then hit rev limiter many times. That pickup went by me and wondered how he just beat a vette!
..but I did confirm the converter alone dropped et's by 5/10's
