Default Got Pulled over today...

NOPE not for speeding. Actually was goin pretty slow or a little below the speed limit. NOT for driving reckless either. It was some stupid state trooper with nothing better to do than pull over someone that was driving safely and calmly. NO FRONT PLATE! Are you kidding me? A state trooper just pulling me over for no plate! Well he did it. I saw him pull up behind me and knew something was up. As soon as I turned right at the signal his lights went on. So anyway he says where is your plate, and I pull it out from underneath the trunk mat in the back . He got confused then started saying NO NO it has to be on the front. Then asked for my DL and Insurance. Came back pretty quick and said I'm giving you a warning, I was still MAD because of getting pulled over for a reason. I told him i don't know how to put it on and he said go to the chevy dealership. "I don't have a corvette, I don't know, I don't have a corvette". (Obviously why else would you pull me over). But in the end I was lucky i didn't get ticketed but still mad. He gave me a written warning. I know it says on it that it won't got on your record but any cops on here know for sure. Can anyone find out if I ever got a warning before??? So how many others have been pulled over cause of this?

It does not go on your record as I have received several warnings about the same thing. They are just trying to find something else wrong so they use the front plate as an excuse to pull you over.

I was pulled over by a Texas state trooper (DPS) a few years ago for no front plate, but he claimed to pull me over primarily to look at the car. Gave me a verbal warning about no front plate (no written warning). According to my father in law (ex-DPS trooper) and my brother in law (local deputy constable), written warnings are not recorded or filed.

You got pulled over for a violation of State law (which I admit should be repealed), you got a WARNING, and you're bitching.........amazing.

If you don't think it's a Texas State law, go up to the next State Highway Patrol LEO with no front tag on your car and ask.

License plates are not part of the inspection process. http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/insp...classsubmit=Go

Front plates are required by Texas state law.

Hey for what its worth, I know I can get a ticket for not having a front plate, I got one a while back. It's not a moving violation and I know I made the choice not to put one on my car and I take the risk. I found that if you get pulled over for something else like speeding, or exabition of acceleration you can use the no front plate as a tool to get the moving violation taken care of. Heck I got pulled over once for a U turn and told "how dare I do that in that car, don't you know I would be watching you." Anyway your lucky you got a warning, I would have got a ticket. Laugh it off, hey if I break the law, he's doing his job. I know nobody likes it though.

PS: I always wondered what a cop would say when I got the front plate out of the back of the car, or said sorry sir it just fell off, and I was in a hurry to get home and fix it.

PSS: I just got a ticket in my wifes car on the way to dallas (82 in a 65) I did the crime, so I'll do D.D. at the laugh stop, (103.00+D.D. course)

Bill

I've been pulled over by DPS and ticketed three times in my daily driver specifically for no front tag. Local police don't seem to enforce it.

At the same time, I drive my C-2 with no front tag, expired inspection and no registration displayed (keep in glove box) and I have never been pulled over.

More b*ll**** laws made by morons with too much time on their hands that serve little to no purpose but to make more people annoyed at how many laws there are. Maybe someday we'll live in a society where people take responsibility for their actions and lawyers take a backseat to rational thought. A guy can dream can't he?

IMHO, i don't thnk you can complain. the law requires two plates and you are/were breaking the law. I have my front plate on, and so i've never been pulled over for not having it on. You have to pay to play. If you choose to not put a front plate on, you have to be prepared to be stopped and possibly ticketed for it. It's a stupid reason to get pulled over, yes, but you can stop it from happening if you choose to.

jmho.
