Default [TULSA] Hotels

Hi. I'm taking the 'Vette on vacation and will be staying overnight in Tulsa. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for car-safe hotel/motels there. I'll be coming from the south on Hwy. 75 so something on the west side would be preferred if that's a good area of town.

Thanks,
Jeff

It's a little out of your way, but we stayed in Owasso at the Best Western a couple of weeks ago. Quiet, reasonable and clean. Car was parked 10 ft outside our door.

Can't say I blame you for being cautious. I hear there are some places where they don't let the police dogs run loose.

Thanks,

The west side is not a very good part of town. If you need to stay near hwy 75 I would suggest you exit on 71st street and go east down the hill and across the river. When you cross the river you leave west Tulsa. The first traffic light you come to after crossing the river on 71st. is "Riverside Drive". One mile east of Riverside Dr. is Lewis ave. There are a two large hotels on south Lewis (71st and Lewis has a large hotel...and 81st and Lewis is a Hilton).

If you are looking for a place in that area at a bit of a lower rate keep going south on Lewis (past 81st) and check out this Days Inn. It's a kind of out of the way Days Inn that's in a reasonable part of town. I would guess this Days Inn may not get much business so the parking lot might not have much traffic. It's also not far from a Walmart Supercenter and the Creek Nation Casino...

You would also be close to Riverwalk...

There are lots of other good places to stay in Tulsa, but this would keep you near hwy 75 and close to west Tulsa.

Great info, guys. Thanks. Yep, it seems like I always end up pulling into the wrong area of town when I'm in these situations. And thanks for the links, Z06.

I don't know when you plan to be in Tulsa, but I'm going to book a room at that Days Inn next week for a friend who is flying in to Tulsa on a late flight from So Cal. If your travel plans are after next week I'll let you know how she liked that Days Inn.

Thanks, but I'll be staying there this Thursday night unless Hurricane Ike turns our way which would delay me a little.

Jeff
