From the Houston Chronicle today. Not sure if he was on the forum or not.
A 55-year-old man lost control of his Corvette and died while believed to be street racing near Tomball overnight, authorities said.
The Cypress man, whose name was not immediately available, hit a curb, flipped and then struck a pole while racing his silver Corvette against a yellow Mustang near the intersection of Texas 249 and Rollingwood, according to witnesses.
The driver was thrown from the car and was dead at the scene.
Chronicle news partner KHOU-TV contributed to this report.
Thats why street racing is just plain stupid! And why would he even waste his time racing a Mustang??
Street racing is wrong.
To answer your question, I guess he was keeping the mustang in his place and in check. Unfortunately, he took one for the team.
What next, someone dies from a gunshot wound and you'll get crap for owning a gun? Just remember: Guns don't kill people, husbands that come home early do.
What a tragedy. I heard about the wreck when it happened but did not know who it was. After following the link I saw the guys name and realized I knew him. He was a customer of ours at work. He had mentioned he had a vette and we started talking hot rods. We even got together at the drag strip in Sealy one weekend to make some passes down the track. Super nice guy. My prayers go out to his family.
