Austin: Cars and Coffee event 1/31/10 (first one)
Someone has finally purchased a the franchise to have a Cars and Coffee in Austin. Below I copied and pasted the info from an email I received about the event. These events are enourmous in other major cities. A lot of us south Austin guys are going to meet up at the Y in Oak Hill and caravan up there at 10am.
If you like classic, vintage, antique and/or exotic automobiles, please 'drive' to Leander. The City of Leander has partnered with John Eagle European to host Cars and Coffee on Sunday, 31 January 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Old Town.
John Eagle European is Central Texas' newest high-end automotive dealership. Aston Martin of Austin, Bentley of Austin and Lotus of Austin are part of this automotive group.
Cars and Coffee is an international automotive enthusiasts group. Please take a look at the Dallas Chapter participation from this brief Summer 2009 video (you will really want to watch this for the variety of classic, vintage, antique and exotic cars). The video provides a real flavor of the interest in this informal, non-competitive, free, monthly event.
Utilize this Old Town Aerial Photo as a reference. It reflects potential 'parking areas' in-and-around Leander's City Hall, Greater Leander Chamber of Commerce offices and the Leander ISD Administration facility.
Since this Cruise-In is an informal, come-and-go, there will be no assigned parking, for now. So please just enjoy a relaxed experience with your fellow automotive enthusiasts. Like the community's previous Cruise-Ins, this monthly event will be open to Classic, Vintage, Antique and Exotic automotive enthusiasts.
The City of Leander, Greater Leander Chamber of Commerce and John Eagle European intend to host Cars and Coffee each month. Please stay tuned to future emails for dates, times and locations.

This Cruise-In is an informal, come-and-go event for the Classic, Vintage, Antique and Exotic automotive enthusiasts. There will be no assigned parking, for now. So please enjoy the relaxed environment, pop-out a lawn chair, take a stroll, grab a beverage and some 'nosh and enjoy the fellowship.

I just spent 30 mins cleaning the kitchen. Closed the fridge door after getting some creamer for my coffee and my girlfriends bottle of wine on top of the fridge falls and hits me in the shoulder, arm, and back before it shattered on thetile and redecorated the place. I may not have any tread on my tires when i get to the meet.

On the way there, cruising by Mansfield Dam with a TT Ford GT and a Lambo in front . . . .
Stopped at a light. A good looking chick in a Lambo was smiling at me.
In Leander at the first ever Austin Cars n Coffee event!
A stealth Cadillac!
A sweet little Falcon.
A nice little Bentley sports coupe. The sticker on it was only $281K!
I expected to see Jackie Gleason chasing Burt Reynolds around.
A Ford pickup with a V12!
