Made it home in 2nd gear. 3000 rpm is 40 mph! Thanks to all who offered to follow me home.
Now to figure out what came loose.

The bolt that holds the shifter to it's bracket stripped out and came loose. Had to remove the tranny mount and jack up the tranny to get it out. Would have been nice it the engineers had given us a larget hole in the tranny tunnel to get to all this. The bracket is threaded and they strip out, so I need to get a nut welded to the bracket.
Also not sure if I can get all this back together.

Just jack up the license plates and put a C7 between them.

It's fixed! Shifts better than it has in a long time. No more rattling or vibration noises. Nice crisp shifts. Now I wish this would have happened years ago so I would have had a nice shifting car all this time. See you all Wednesday....with my car.

Only one way to find out!!! Better to beg for forgiveness rather than ask for permission.

Anything can be sewn back on. Might look like hell though.
I'll be in my "my car is in the shop" truck.
