Does anyone know if there will be a group of Corvettes leaving from the Houston area going to the Great American Corvette and Chevy Day in McGregor, Texas on Sept. 13 2014?
Also, looking at Oldride.com about this event, it doesn't say what time the event starts. Anyone have a clue.

Hi Guys,
Just moved from Boston to College Station, and I, although I see other covettes on the road out there, and went to one open day at TWS just to check things out, there doesn't seem to be an informal meet up around here, far less a corvette specific organization here in town.
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum: did try a search to no avail...can someone point me in the right direction.
Thanks for your time.

Platinum Supporting Dealership
Corvettes to Invade Galveston 2015
Well it is Official. After months of planning, getting permitted, meeting with City Officials, and meeting with the business owners of the Galveston "Historic Strand District", Christopher Tine, General Manager of Corvette World Houston is proud to announce Corvette World's "1st Annual Corvettes Cruisin Galveston". This event will be May 29th, 30th, and 31st, 2015. We are sure that this event will eventually become the biggest Corvette gathering in the South with 1000 Corvettes expected the first year.
The story of Corvette World’s “1st Annual Corvettes Cruisin Galveston”
Christopher Tine is the General Manager of “Corvette World Houston”. Owned by Mark Eddins, second generation owner/operator of “Friendly Chevrolet” in Dallas, TX (Established in 1956), Corvette World, (three locations; Austin, Dallas, and Houston) is the Premier; Top selling, Pre-Owned Corvette Dealer in the nation. We carry the cleanest, lowest mileage, Corvettes available. When the new team took over the helm of “Corvette World Houston” it was very evident that something was missing….the support of the people that live the “Corvette Lifestyle”. After researching forums and other reviews on the internet we found that it was time to make some wrongs right. We embarked on this mission by addressing the issues one problem at a time and correcting them. We also noticed that there was no support for the 5 major Corvette Clubs in Houston; one club has been in existence for 57 years!
Christopher Tine took it upon himself to address this issue by supporting them as a sponsor in their car shows, holding street meets at Corvette World, and helping anyway that Corvette World could. In dealing with the clubs many great relationships have been formed. Corvette World has decided since these are the people that have made our business successful that it is time to do something big for them. When Christopher Tine interviewed with Mark Eddins and Thomas Quintana (partner), one of the remarks that he made was that he had a vision of 1000+ Corvettes headed down I-45 to beautiful Galveston Island for a week end of showing Corvettes and enjoying several events and fellowships. Not to mention the fact that it will be a huge fundraiser with all of the proceeds after expenses being donated directly to the affiliated clubs charities
Sure there is “Carlisle” and “Bowling Green” that are substantial trips to large Corvette Events, but until now there was not even a thought of a big Corvette venue in the South. Corvette World will now tackle this massive undertaking by founding the event, Corvette World’s “1st Annual Corvettes Cruisin Galveston” an Annual Fundraiser to benefit the Clubs directly affiliated with the company. We hope to make this the biggest Corvette Event in the South!!!!
The last day of the event will be a massive 80 mile round trip cruise. This will be an 80 mile drive along the Texas coastline from the bustling port and tourist center of Galveston to the sleepy beach town of Surfside Beach. The drive follows the coast starting in the busy tourist city of Galveston and ending in a section that is relatively empty, and quiet. As along most of the Texas coast there are few trees near the shore except where they have been planted. Wind, salt and occasional hurricanes make it difficult for trees to become established. But the beaches and dunes have a stark beauty of their own. Nothing beats watching the sun rise over the Gulf of Mexico on a cool, quiet morning. Behind the beaches are low dune ridges that are often covered with flowers such as the purple goat-foot morning glory. The marshes flank the back bays and harbor a tremendous variety of birds, fish, and other creatures. Now imagine the sound of hundreds of Corvettes making their way down the Galveston Seawall, across San Luis Pass Bridge, down the Blue Water Highway to Surfside, Texas and back. AWWWESOME!!!!!! Don't miss your chance to attend this inaugural event!!
Go to our event page at link below and commit to the event. Also share with all Corvette Owners that you know!!! https://www.facebook.com/events/276083339254489/
You can also fill out your entry form, pre order event t-shirts, and pay through pay pal at www.corvettescruisingalveston.com

Now that I've moved to Salado from Harker Heights since August and got settled in the new job I can start doing stuff again. Looks like Central Texas corvette stuff is practically dead for the informal meet-ups?

New to CF...
Howdy,
After more than 50 cars owned over the past 35 or so years, I own my first vette. I've always liked the C3 lines. Already gaining valuable info from the site. Thanks!
Did some searching to see if there is a club in Ellis County (Waxahachie, Texas) but only come up with old posts and can't seem to locate the member that originally was attempting to get some traction. Suggestions welcomed. I'd like have some insight to what is going on in the area - oh, and did I mention I'm new to the area too?
Thanks in advance!
Kelly

I updated the calender. My apologies for not keeping it up better. I've been extremely busy lately, but promise to do better.
