I would but I there aren't many military that live around here.

I don't think I can park next to him since he has a reserved spot. One day, though, I will have a reserved spot.

As a matter of fact, I got a "smoke them for the camera" request leaving yesterday on the wine tasting tour. That had to be the most random bunch of cars I've ever rolled with, and I loved it.

Here's a list of cars from the top of my head:

C6 GS Corvette
C6 Corvette (procharged)
Porsche 911
Nissan GT-R
BMW 135i
Nissan 370z (supercharged)
VW GLI (MkV)
VW CC
Audi A4
Hyundai Genesis (turbo)
Nissan 350z
Mustang GT
Miata NC
Scion FR-S
Ford Taurus
Mercedes C350
Viper SRT-10 (showed up but didn't cruise)
Mustang convertible (with crazy camera man hanging from the doors)

It was definitely not a cruise, as some cars were left behind (and eventually caught up). I know I ran out of 4th gear a couple of times.

Couple pictures:

And guess who finally turned 30k?

I got plenty of GoPro footage that I still need to edit... probably next weekend.

April 28 is the Racing Southwest cruise through the Jemez Mountains. Starts Early in Albuquerque and is usually a full day run. Lots of fun. You southern boys should drive up for the fun...

That's pretty far out! If any of the locals want to go then I'll probably go as well.

Busy week for me. Was out playing Army and got home last night near midnight. Did the 4 mile mud run/obstacle course this morning and it was seriously fun. Now I'm up ready to edit some video from last weekend, wash the z06 and take it out burn some fuel tonight. Let me know if anybody wants to meet!

Were those false alarms going off on your detector? Open area so was wondering what would cause a false alarm.

That's the laser alarm on the Escort Passport 8500. I've been reading about it and I seems as they get old the alarm comes on under hard acceleration... time for an upgrade! It used to freak me out because in Hawaii it meant a real speed trap; over there they all use LIDAR and there's plenty of cops sitting on the highway.

So far in TX and NM I've only had to worry about K bands. The Escort has already saved me from a few tickets so I'd say it is a must if you plan to drive fast.

When I needed my axle back installed I took it to Magic Muffler, they did a good job as far as work goes, but I told myself that I would never go back again due to their shady business practices. Finally got the headers on and cat delete done and all I can say is this thing sounds like a beast now! I think I lost a bit of the driveability though, it is really loud. I am going to go with ECS mail order tune, going try and see if I can do it sometime this week.

I wouldn't worry about LIDAR in this area your right nobody is using it in this area. But it still freaks me out every once and awhile when it goes off lol The only place I have encountered it as far as Texas goes is in central and east Texas.

Came home from work on Sunday morning decided to do a quick zip tie mod. I noticed the PO did his own intake mod before.

The zip-tie mod rules. I bought a spare LS1 airbox to modify it but haven't gotten around to do it. I was running a k&n panel filter with zip ties when I ran a 12.8@110mph at EP Motorplex.

Where did you get your headers and all done?

It does make a difference, I'm liking it so far

I got it done at Ernie's muffler, I think it took them about 4 to 6 hrs. They had to modify the stock mid-pipe to fit the headers.

RSW - Dang, why don't you guys do these events on a Saturday? 80 rides confirmed is a nice snake trail up the mountain.

ps....What's up with everyone pointing up at the sun? Or is it a UFO? Or are you folks a human sun dial?

That Jemez cruise sounds awesome. I'm still undecided if I want to make the drive.

Tomorrow I will be heading out to Arroyo Seco for their Superlap day (along with the Golf R this time with better tires and ECS defeated). I might only run in the morning and then catch the UFC fight in the afternoon. This past week was my second week in the field with long days and short nights... I'm ready to come out and play with some cars now.

Harley - What time you headed out to ASR? The Superlap is the same as last time? In case you forgot, Transmountain entrance is closed to I-10.
