Default possibly moving to Austin, TX.

My wife would be working near I-35 and 183 ( E. Anderson Ln.) and she doesn't want a long drive to work. What would be a nice area to move to. Looking between 700k and 1.2 m

OMG That's where the North Koreans want to target their missiles.

And liberals abound.

There's nothing like that near 183 and 35. Great Hills is up 183 and not that far distance-wise, but I have no idea what the traffic is like.

183 / 35 = one of the more ghetto areas of town.

Follow 183 west/northwest and look at areas west of it.

Wow! That may be a problem because there is nothing in that price range near that area. For that kind of money I would be looking in Westlake, Rollingwood, around Lake Austin or Lake Travis but none of those areas are close to 183 and I-35.

You'll love the Texas Hill Country for driving. You may or may not care for the liberal politics in Austin.

There are some nice pocket neighborhoods N. and E. of I35/183, $500,000 props but you need a knowledgable Realtor to find them.

Any other area is going to be a LONG drive.

Traffic in Austin is mostly downtown related, heavy towards Austin in the AM and heavy away from Austin in the PM. Have you considered a downtown area Condo?

I think it depends how you define "long drive".

People in Austin seem to think 10 minutes+ is a long drive. Coming from Houston, 10 minutes to me is hardly getting started.

If I drive less then 1 hour, it is a short drive IMO.
