Default Need Help A.S.A.P turning off a check engine light Sugar Land, Tx

Just bought an 02 ZO6. The seller said he had a check engine light come on before I shipped it. He ran the code and put new 02 sensors in and said that fixed it. I drove it today on the way home the check engine light came on. I had planned on getting it inspected tomorrow so I can register it. Thank you in advance for any help.

That is the air injection system. It's looking at the O2 sensors to watch for a lean condition when the air pump turns on, which is part of the emissions control system. To fix it, you either need to reconnect the air system to the long tube headers, or have that tuned out of the ECU by someone with a tuner/software.

So I'm guessing it wouldn't pass inspection even without the check engine light on? Here in Houston they hook up an OB2 and I think you can only have two not ready codes? Not sure new to Houston.

find someone who will tune this out.... turn off the code from reporting ...

yes, that is correct....

you need to fix the check engine light... so you can drive it and the status monitors can become "ready"
