48" 1080p TV's can be purchased brand new for $300-$400 so asking $1,300 for a 8 year old model is not even remotely realistic.

If the unit is in excellent condition and includes all the accessories (remote, table stand etc) I will offer you $200 for it.

Its an 8000 series. Might want to look at them online before you make yourself look more ignorant than you already are.

RC4G, first off...where did you get that it was an 8 year old TV? Secondly...sure for a low-end model, but 8000 and 9000 series TVs are much more expensive. This TV was $3100 new. I`ve been meaning to lower the price, but at any rate, your post was something that should have been sent in a private message. I certainly don`t appreciate it. The TV is in new-like condition, but your offer, ha, no thanks. Furthermore, if you want to discuss in more detail, please send me a PM. Thanks.

zdeckich, I appreciate your support. Some people just don`t know the prices increase between 4000, 5000, 6000, etc. series TVs. 8000 was the highest series back when it was new.

I don't need to "look at them online" as I own a 55" Samsung 8000 series TV (as well as a 7000 series and a new 4k model). Do you?

I'm also knowledgeable enough of the product to know that the 8000 series was released in several model designations (e.g. ES, K, etc) which the seller did not specify and yes, the first model was released 7-8 years ago.

While it might have been a $3,100 TV when it was released (although I paid significantly less for my 55" model purchased new from BestBuy), the same features (1080p, 240Hz, 3D, <48") are available now in brand new models for a significantly lower price point.

Having owned Samsung flat panels for more than 15 years I also know that the side lighting tends to fail within 5 years based on a normal use schedule so buying a used model is a always a risk and which is why any knowledgeable consumer is not going to pay you $1,000 for a 1080p 46" LED TV when brand new models (with full factory warranties) can be purchased for considerably less.

As for the seller's indignation about me making a legitimate offer for a used TV he might want to consider the fact that this is a Corvette forum where members are free to respond to postings and if he doesn't want offers he should consider posting his non-corvette related, garage sale items on Craigslist or Ebay instead.

RC4G, I don't need your explanation, justification, or bashing on my for sale thread. I was professional in asking you politely to keep it to PMs, but it's obvious you're stubborn. So...politeness is out the window. Stay off my for sale threads or any threads for that matter unless you have something positive to contribute. I don't care what you feel is a legitimate price and quite frankly, your offer was a joke and I wouldn't even consider it. I don't need to consider anything...I've been around the forums long enough to know better and so should you. I'm open for offers, but low ***** and this garbage you're filling my thread with is against forum rules. So you pal...are in violation. Maybe you should familiarize yourself with the rules.

Admin...delete all these posts? Address this matter with violator?

Too funny. Nothing more hypocritical than accusing me of violating forum rules when this post violates multiple rules:
1. All non-vendor "For Sale" posts are restricted to the classified sections.
2. Sale of non-Corvette related junk violates the "Commercial Posting" policy:
Forum members are welcome to sell a Corvette or Corvette parts they purchased for their own personal use. They also are welcome to use the Forum to purchase items for their personal use. Anything else is considered to be a commercial sale or a commercial purchase for the purpose of re-selling."

Regardless, my posts are not in violation of any policy. I made a legitimate offer and my clarifications on TV model specifics contributed to the post because you failed to be specific about the exact TV model or its age in your original post. Instead of being adult and simply responding stating you were not interested in my offer you resorted to a childish tantrum.

So feel free to go whining to the moderators/admins as it should result in removal of the thread in its entirety.

No skin off my nose either way. I made an offer, you got all butt-hurt about it and declined. As far as I'm concerned the matter is concluded.
