Default Anyone Know of a Traffic Ticket Attorney in Smithville, TX (Bastrop County)

82 in a 55 and he wouldn't budge on cutting me a break. I can't take DD for this because I'm >25 miles over the limit.

Does anyone know of a local traffic ticket attorney I can contact who is local to the area. Thanks

Call the judge's office and see if you can pay the extra fee and have it completely dismissed. Forgot what it's officially called, but I was able to get off with 10 days probation and $50 more on the fine in a neighboring county.

What you are referring to is Deferred Adjudication, where the judge delays judgement for a set period of time (3-6 months normally) and if you are not found guilty of another violation within that time period the original ticket will be dismissed.

I'm in Texas so this is Texas specific. Go to court, plead not guilty, ask for a jury trial. At this point they will probably give you a line of chit. They have to give you a jury trial if you request one. There is no extra cost. The maximum fine is the same. They will likely never have a trial. If they do there is a chance the jury will not find you guilty. You don't need an attorney. There is also a chance the cop won't show and the case will be dismissed. If you are found guilty appeal. It will go to county court where the case will be heard all over again. County courts don't want to go through this crap because they don't get the money.

In effect that's what it is but there is a new term or phrase.
