Leander Car Show; First Sunday Every Month
OK, time to start a new thread. As many of you know, the Leander show was formerly called Leander Cars and Coffee. Now it is called the Leander Car Show and is still scheduled for the first Sunday of every month in Leander Texas. The event runs from 10 to 1PM; but quite a few of us get there earlier, around 9AM.
We still plan on continuing "Corvette Alley", having the Corvettes take over the block of W.Willis Street from the intersection of W.Willis and Baghdad, circled on this map:
We reverse park our cars diagonally (front of car facing out) on the north side of the street. We have had up to 25 Corvettes on the alley and around the show.
I hope you can join us, the weather should be great this weekend.

I'm confused. I thought Cars and Coffee was moving to the Oasis and I was not aware that the Leander show would continue independent of Cars and Coffee. I'm sure there is a story behind all that ...

That's good news. I was hoping that we could still have a meet in Leander. Maybe I'll see you guys in the morning. By the way I think the C and C at The Oasis is the second Sunday of the month now.

Isn't this pretty much your normal condition?
Here is a link to a news article that explains some of it. http://www.statesman.com/news/news/l...he-same/nTdTJ/

By the way; I plan on attending both of the shows, Leander and CnC at the Oasis in Austin. More fun for Car people can't be a bad thing.

We had a GREAT Corvette turnout for the first ever Leander Car Show. We managed to fill Willis Street with our cars, and the COLD morning became much more tolerable as we got closer to noon.
The rest of the car show started off pretty sparse, but as we got closer to 11AM quite a few cars showed up. I am certain that attendance will improve more as the weather improves and the word gets around that Leander is alive and well.
Here are some pictures I took of the cars on Corvette Alley today:

And it begins!
Remember that Cars and Coffee Austin is now at the Oasis and will be next Sunday 1/13/13. I plan on attending and hope to see most of you there too.
Thanks for coming today and I really hope to see all of you again next month! Tell your friends, let's fill this place up!

It started off a bit cool and windy this morning but ultimately turned into a great day. We had a very large showing of corvettes today, well over 25 cars. The event in general was well attended and the changes made by the Leander authorities worked well. As we get into Spring we should see an enormous amount of cars attending the event. It should be lots of fun for everyone.
Here are some pictures I shot today of the Corvettes that attended. Note: these shots were pretty early in the day. There were several groups of Corvettes that came later that I did not catch in pictures; my apologies.
A Special message to Jim D: We missed you big man. We're all hoping you get to feeling better and can rejoin the gang again real soon!
Thanks to all that brought their cars, attended the event or just visited us on the corner. Hope to see you all again next time; until then keep it between the gutters.

Well, I have been remiss in posting pictures from the last 2 or 3 Leander Car Shows. S*** Happens!.
We had a great turn-out of Corvette owners today, over 26 on my last count. Corvette Alley was FULL. We really did a good job of packing the cars in.

Yes it is indeed summertime here in Texas. Today was hot and humid for sure! But All in All we had a great turnout of Corvette owners and the show in general had a really good turn out. Leander continues to be a great "laid-back" car show. Just the way I like it.
Hope to see you all next month!

Hello. A few hardcore enthusiasts still come out in protest to the city moving the date and location. The City of Leander decided to move the car show to the third Saturday of the month to go along with some vendors and such. Not everyone was happy with the time and location change. I personally have yet to go to the new location or time. Let us know how it was if you go.
