Default Go fund me made for Tx2K18

http://idontthinkso

My car has been down for a while and I never seem to have enough time to make it to a TX2K event. My goal is to make it to my first ever TX2k in 2018. Any donations help.

Our standard practice has been to require that any request for donations must go through a 501c3 organization. That provides some safeguards to donors because the agency is required to file reports with the US Internal Revenue Service on how they spent the money. It also makes the donations tax deductible.

There have been exceptions, of course, such as when a long-time, active site user falls on hard times, needs some immediate help and generous site users spontaneously jump in and try to help through a gofundme account or with direct contributions.

There is some danger involved in those independent funding requests and those who participate accept the risk that the money may not be used for the purpose indicated.

If some of you believe the cause is worthy and want to participate, you are welcome to do so. If you do not want to participate, that's fine, too.

I got a good laugh over this!!! Go fund you , fix your car up and still get grossly walked at TX2K18. Showing a picture of a car cover! You're funny.

I disagree, this is very informative; I didn't know I could blow an engine and set up a GoFundMe page to have strangers give me money to fix it... What a beautiful world we live in, God Bless America

Don't know if this is real or not but this is just something I was talking with my wife about yesterday. It seriously irritates the hell out of me that anyone and everyone thinks it is okay to request "donations" from complete strangers. I see the stupidest things on GoFundMe.

"help me make it to my first concert this summer!"
"Hoping to go on a great hiking trip"
"trying to remodel my home..."

Who the hell do these people think they are? I would never in a hundred years think it was okay to ask total strangers for their money to help me with what I want to do. Whatever happened to working for what you got or what you want and if you don't have the money then, oh well, that's life.

Rant over...

Sad post on many levels.

My family would need to be staving and I'd have to have failed at working 3-4 jobs at the same time before I would ask someone to give me money. Wtf has happened to our country. I am embarrassed for you.
